I think I read that Islam is the fastest growing religion. Anybody know how or why?

Also, are handguns illegal in France and the other places where this is happening?

Lastly, what is the Muslim population in the US (or North America) compared the the populations in France and elsewhere? Is it proportionately the same or is their much larger numbers of Muslims in France than America?

It's much more than that. Any arab youngster that walks the streets in paris gets its id checked every 2streets, unemployement, discremeniation, etc, etc, etc...

Right after the first trouble the prime minister made some very undiplomatic statements ("we need to wipe these scumbags from the streets with highpressure cleaners" etc) which only resulted in many more upset kids. Only way to solve this is to listen to what they have to say. They onlyt want to be heard.

AND IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH RELEGION!!!

They were young guys Mike and it was an accident.

The problem is an underlying one and has existed in France of a few decades now - the deads were just the fuse to an already tense scenario.

I live not far from it, and what we are talking about is mostly kids that parents and school can't handle, 14-18 year old. 30-40 of them, and thats it.
I passed them, I talked to them myself, and they are just fucking around. Its typical kid "gang" stuff, and have nothing to do with the rest of the immigrants (or religion).

Århus has always been relative peaceful, so "the worst riots in years" means nothing compared to other places, like you see in France now.
Media makes it a storm in a waterglass. Its more dangerous to go to a soccer game here between two rivals....
