If you're looking to invest money

What are the criteria that make you decide whether or not to invest in a venture? What do you look at, when deciding do invest $50K-100K+?

- business plan?
- payback time?
- percentage offered?
- involvement/lack of?
- person(s) behind the business plan/venture?
- anything else?

I'm sitting on a few ideas which all have some executive summaries written and some rough calculations made. Looking to get opinions on this so I can finalize the complete business plans. Oh, and if it matters, they're all adult-related, sprung out of on my experience handling traffic and converting it.

Please explain if you have experience handling traffic and you know how
to convert it why you need investors.

Is there a market for it?
Are there other players on the market?
Has it been done before?
Have you succeeded in previous undertakings?

Most important is "income/risk" ratio for me...

the only thing I invested so far in are type-in domains, so it's kinda hard for me to put myself in your situation when you speak about some more coplicated projects and business plans

but cerainlty the risk / potential gain / and amount of work needed ( if any ) need to be calculated

There is only so fast you can grow organically and there is only so much you can do by yourself.

I'm not entirely sure but.... I think the LAST place you'd want to ask for advice about investing 100K is GFY.

GFY is fun and all.. but at 5:00 AM PST might not be the best time to be asking for financial advice. Maybe hit up a really smart CPA or some other financial planner that can show you charts and smart shit about how investments payoff.

Kinda like what ssp said, but not him. You definitely want advice from someone with a higher post count. 15,000 at least.

I'm not looking for investors just yet. I'm still debating whether it's worth working fingers to the bone and pulling through on my own, with all the consequences that entails (family, health etc) or getting some outside funding and doing things in a more humane fashion. So right now I'm just looking to see what people would take into account, should I actually proceed with looking for investors.
