Any fans of the show Man Vs. Wild with Bear Grylls here?

I have been watching and DVRing this show quite a bit lately and think I may have finally seen them all. What a great show and Bear Grylls is a fucking BEAST!

He blows away that Les Stroud guy from Survivorman (IMO) any day, but I do give Les credit. He does go alone out into the wilderness unlike Bear.

Survivorman Les Stroud is king of what he does.

Bear Grylls can be king of what he does.

They're entirely different. On Bears show, they often have the dead animals set in place so he can demonstrate his knowledge. Plus of course he always has a guy who is as skilled as he is right there with him. Thats quite a different format than Survivorman.

That episode with him eating the zebra carcass was one of the best. He drank from elephant crap too.

both survivorman and man vs wild are great shows.

Les Stroud is a badass when it comes to survival, plus he does most of the stuff himself as far as filming (obviously) and editing. Further, he worked hard to build his brand from the ground up so you have to give the guy credit for that. He is also the better teacher and is legit.

However, you have to give Bear some credit in that the guy climbed Everest at the age of 23 and had a bunch of equally crazy adventures. That said, the guy was faking his show and Les Stroud doesn't do that so there is really no comparison here.

He just named his son Huckleberry.

Other than that, Bear's pretty badass. I wouldn't eat fresh (or semi-fresh) zebra carcass.

Like, once the corner mini-mart was like closed, because it was like a holiday, and OMG I didn't know if I was gonna like survive and everything, you know, so like then I went home and I ate like a can of tuna fish...my cat like stared at me, and I like said, "Like, what are you looking at!"

That cat was like so lucky that I didn't like eat it...

I prefer Suvivorman. Man vs Wild is just too made up and extreme. Sure, you can eat a dead zebra. But can you outrun a jaguar in the jungle at night? Can you sleep in the snow with a rifle, knowing there are polar bears around?

Even though some of that stuff is staged you can't take away from him just being a bad ass. He puts himself through some pretty extreme conditions.

yeah i like the one where he's "free floating" down a rapid... wearing a life jacket under his coat

Bear is good for shock value but imo too "extreme" for actual survival. Les kicks his ass in regards to actual survival tactics

wow I had no idea it was that bad. I just thought they were conveniently dropping animals in front of him so he would not starve.

Bear Grylls is insane. In the season opener, he traveled to the jungles of Belize where he went into some pitch black cave with a torch and ate a huge scorpion spider! Lol, I would not have done that, not even for $1,000,000 dollars.

He's all huffing and puffing, yet you don't even hear the cameraman who had to lug a camera up an adjoining tree breathing hard at all...

i liked last weeks where he swung on a vine into the rock wall and grabbed another vine to get to the bottom of that gorge. at the bottom was that underwater cave and at the end he had to swim underwater to get thru. i thought to myself this guy must have a death wish.

Bear is a fucking pussy...the real tough guy on that show is the dude that lugs the camera around to film all the shit he does.

Survivorman is about 100 times better and tougher.
