Spill on my HP notebook

Had a spill on my labtop and it needs a new motherboard. Is it safe to say that I lost pretty much everything on there, excel files, etc? It won't turn on at all.

assuming that it is just the motherboard that needs to be replaced then your files should be fine

if you really need your files before sending the machine in to be repaired, then you could get a 2.5" to 3.5" hd adapter and put the laptop hd into another computer and copy the files

Its pretty safe to say that you didn't loose your files. You probably lost anything that was open and not saved, but thats it. Unless your spill reached the hard drive and made it short out, your files should be ok.

Sure... so long as you mentioned that you had a spill on it and fried the motherboard, ya know.

Full disclosure, and shit.

Your harddrive should be fine so I doubt you lost anything... I had to post in this thread cause the word "labtop" is a pet peeve of mine. I can't tell you how many times i've heard that word from people.

The best thing that you can do, is just get a new laptop. I would never Sell a computer that I have done any work on involving porn.
