The speed Nazi's here use laser.

A while back I got popped for doing two miles over.

I fought it (and lost) but the cop said they aim the laser at the headlights, I was thinking exactly along these lines to scramble laser...a row of IR LED's across each headlight spamming the gun....makes me want to get out my soldering iron.

Well for me, it just doesn't sound like a good deal.
1. I used to work for an Insurance company, and learned that the average American gets a ticket or into an accident once every 8 years.

2. I just got a ticket about a month ago for speeding.

3. Their offer is only good for 1 year that they will pay your ticket.

So, as you see. The odds are stacked against my purchase of this product under this spammers referral code.

In Scotland you can be 10% over the speed limit till you get to 40mph then its only 5% so in effect you can only do around 3-4 mph over the limit!!

Pretty shitty

Naw they set up these 'special enforcement areas' around here and just catch everybody...I've seen some traps with like 8 guys on motors just pulling people over one after another.

They started doing it after the city council refused to pass an anti cruising law.

You can get a ticket for going 1 mile over the speed limit, but most cops won't give you one until you are over 10 (except in some circumstances)

In MD - points are given in 10MPH increments - so if you are going 10 - 19 miles over - you get more points/fine than 1 - 9 miles and less than 20 - 29.

If you go tocourt - many judges will reduce your points/fine if you have a good record - so 10-19 becomes 1-9. If you have 1-9 you become PBJ - probation before judgement.

To put this all in prospective - it just isn't worth it to most cops to give you a ticket going 1 - 9 over as he/she can easily find PLENTY of people going 10 - 19 over the speed limit - so why bother.

When I was young and reckless - I got pulled over my share of times, but very rarely got a ticket for speeding - here is how:

1) Cops deal with assholes all day. They don't need people telling them "I wasn't speeding" or stuff like that. You might as well just get out of the car - jump up and down and call the guy corrupt.

2) Believe it or not - pulling some one over - is just as much an inconvenience to them as it is to you. They don't know what awaits them, while you usually do.

3) Pull over to the side of the road (as far right as possible) - roll down your window - and keep your hands on the wheel. If it is dark turn on your dome light.

4) Don't give the cop any slack - no need to insult them either by constantly calling them sir.

5) When they ask for your ID & registration - give them your ID - and look through the glove compartment for the registration. Do not give them your registration - apoligize PROFUSELY for not being able to find it. This works better of course if you don't have it in your glove box.

6) It is no problem for the cop to look up your registration.

7) In MD (this may not work for other states) - they have to write a seperate ticket for each offense) So in theory - he should write you a ticket for speeding a not having your registration.

8) In MD - not having your registration is (or was last time I got one) $15 and no points.

9) Back to the cop dealing with assholes all day. You were nice to the cop. You did what he asked, didn't make up excuses and were considerate about his safety. Cops have DISCRETION - they do not HAVE to give you a ticket.

10) Hopefully, they will say to themselves - this guy was nice (not like the other assholes I deal with all day) - I am going to give him a ticket, but just for not having his registration. That way it will only cost him $15 and no points.

Worse case scenerio - you get two tickets and owe an extra $15.

I found this out by accident after I didn't have my registration being pulled over two times in a row and getting only a ticket for that. I don't know how well it works in other areas, but it worked well for me in MD. I never bothered replcaing my registration as it seemed to work out better that way.

Chris R...good points, however, these are all null and void if you are rolling through a speed trap, the whole reason they're out there is to write tickets all night long.

Speed traps are illegal, but I am sure they are still used in some parts of the country.

Why would speed traps be illegal? When I think of speed traps - I think of a bunch of cops set up with radar on the side of the road pretty much doing an operation of writing tickets and pulling most people over.

I have never gotten caught in one of these operations. I have seen them around here every once in a while. They usually have three or four cars and one cop goes out in the road and points at cars andmotinons them over to the side of the road where the other cops write tickets and one guy is doing the radar. I have only seen these used during the day.

I think it still could work - the same principles apply, but of course - if they are dead set in writing everyone a speeding ticket - you are screwed.

Catching legitimate speeders is not a speed trap in the classic sense. Speed traps used to be prevelant in the South. The speed limit would be, let us say 65, then they would post, let us say 55, then in a very short distance they would post one, let us say 35. The distance between the 55 and 35 signs would be so close together, that when you hit the 35 sign you would still be in excess of 35. Gotcha.

*Ticket rebate program. If you do get a speeding ticket within the first year while using your Phazer, they will pay your fine! While the Phazer is designed to help you avoid speed traps, it is not intended to condone excessive speeding. *For that reason, the manufacturer will only pay tickets where the speed limit was not exceeded by more than 30%, or 15 miles per hour, whichever is less.

Why would such a technically advanced product like this come in a plastic case that looks like it was bought at Radio Shack for a kids science project....

Sorry but I think its full of shit... I would not buy anything like this unless some "reputable" company with much more to lose then gain, did a review on the workings of this product...

Penis Pills anyone ? spam referred code below

It wouldn't mean jack shit if this company paid my $150 speeding ticket as my insurance went up over $1000.. Fuck that.

Pisses me off that one speeding ticket on my entire driving record cost me that much in insurance.

ih-35 is a haven for speed traps(between austin & dallas). i've gotten 5 tickets in 5 different cities over the past 5 yrs on ih-35... the worst part is that the guys that pull me over are old cops that are nice(like grandparent nice) and tell you how you can take defensive driving and to keep it off my record and how i need to look for traps in their city.
