That's fucking it, after 4 years of business, made them god knows how much money over those years. Checked today, my shit has been suspended and is no longer accepting signups. If I get my 12/15 check I'd be fucking shocked. Glad I paid them that fucking VISA fee!

So, where do I go from here, peeps? So far as I can tell, I have three options:

1) Start again with a new processor.
- Which processor? Which processor isn't going to fuck my ass for the same shit?
2) Get back into the freesite game.
- God I hope not. I just don't have the time these days.
3) Sell the site and get outta the game entirely.
- I'm fucking leaning toward this option. I've fucking had it with this shit, it's made me a crapload of cash but the headaches are beyond painful lately. But then, who the hell buys paysites? Hell, if you're interested, the site makes 50k/year with no overhead other than bandwidth and a few hours' work doing updates and shit.

In any event, I'll use the rest of this post to discuss the realities of running a celebrity site.

1) Paramount, Maxim, or virtually every other movie house or magazine publisher (aside from Playboy and P-10) do not police the net for celebrity sites. I haven't heard of one recorded case of any of those companies going after celebrity sites for posting scans/vidcaps etc.

2) Individual celebrities, or those who enlisted in Cybertrackers (Alyssa Milano's mom's company) sometimes request that you take down pictures of them via email, and threaten legal action if you do not. Basically it's a cease-and-decist letter, and so long as you take the shit down, there are no problems. I've gone through this with about 20 different celebrities.

3) You have to understand, doing this is not illegal per-se in the criminal sense - you're not going to go to jail for it. Thus, the only thing they can really do is sue you to recover civil damages for copyright infringement. Let's be honest, we all know how much lawyers cost (I happen to be one), no company is going to pay a law firm tens of thousands of dollars to recover basically no money from a small-time fuck like me. See #2, which is all they do.

As I said though, I don't want this to be a friggen moral/legal debate, I'm looking for options here.

I expected what I asked for, a civil discussion of my options. To be honest, what bothers me (as I've said before in this thread) is that I'm getting fucked not because the copyright owners are pissed, but because a very vocal minority of celebrities who have NO LEGAL RIGHT to the pictures I'm distributing. And dont make it a scene, just speak with them the normal way.

Because the thing is that Ibill almost always MIGHT direct You the right way, i.e. may be show You a company which will work better for You, especially since You were a client for 4 years.

The thing is - Ibill has troubles. This has happened before although not that bad.

When they have troubles they HAVE to get rid of what is called "questionable" content.

That includes: rape fantasy, bestiality, incest and...comix, anime, celebs. That's several millions of dollars per month of turnover so it's not easy for them either.

But the real problem is that when they simply ban people, some of those banned guys tend to make new domain names, new companies and simply come back and that is why they prefer if they know how to forward such a client to some other safe place so he wont need to come back.

The real problem if You ask me, is that NO ONE right now gives a fuck what's LEGAL and what's not.

I see that there used to be just 1 billing company which has operated the right way, by the exact book of law, not giving a fuck about what anyone says and therefore independent and very well protected because 100% legality gives a good protection , and that company was Ibill and because of this standart they have reached their great turnover and profit.

And we have a bunch of fucking pussies imitating it since the day 1 and crying all the time "shit Ibill is so big, shit Ibill is so bad, Ibill is..." and we have a bunch of board players who almost go nuts of how important they are cause oh shit one of them has a used ferrari and damn pissed off that Ibill doesnt give a fuck about who or what they are. Switching to another processor is not an option. You will have the same problem in no time. CCBill and all the others send exactly the same letters as you have received from iBill.

The copyright owners you talk about may not complain, but the celebrity herself can still complain and start a case against you. Why? Becasue most of them don't want to see themselves associated with porn.

The big problem is that there is no legal celeb content available to buy. Therefore this business is a dying business. Sites like MrSkin as still up, because they have transformed themselves into review sites. Right now this is the only way to get your celeb site online these days. Anyhow I still think they have to deal with lawsuits from time to time.

there is a big difference, maybe not a moral difference, between downloading copyright protected music, movies, etc from Kazaa for your own personal use and taking that content and charging people to view it and download it using a third party processor to do your billing. Ok no to the ibill issue. I gotten the same from ibill and I have reacted. I send them emails of movie companies sending me content, I send them a lot of legal stuff but they still banned any site that has celeb in the domain. I kicked them from all my sites as soon as the notice came in and they are still processing my rebills. If they don't send out my payments for the rebills they will get sued due to fraud.

The problem I have that those people at ibill are totally unprofessional. I cannot talk to anyone in the legal departement by phone and those fucks don't answer emails. I have emails dating back as far as 1997 stateing that ibill has no problem with celebrity content. They better pay up or I will bring them more legal trouble than Norman Zadeh can.

IBill will be finished in the adult business because they suck ass when it comes to customer service. CCBill seems so much more sophisticated when it comes to that.

I will be using dutchbilling.com for now. I emailed them and they stated that they are ok with celebrity content. They are based in Holland and therefore US laws seem not to important to them.

Any of you who are bashing celeb sites please publish the URL of your 'leagal' website and I will name at least 10 laws that you are breaking. Free Porn is illegal, porn previews are illegal and so on. I won't even start with a list of countries you shouldn't travel to or you might be executed for what we all are doing. Ok no to the ibill issue. I gotten the same from ibill and I have reacted. I send them emails of movie companies sending me content, I send them a lot of legal stuff but they still banned any site that has celeb in the domain. I kicked them from all my sites as soon as the notice came in and they are still processing my rebills. If they don't send out my payments for the rebills they will get sued due to fraud. The problem I have that those people at ibill are totally unprofessional. I cannot talk to anyone in the legal departement by phone and those fucks don't answer emails. I have emails dating back as far as 1997 stateing that ibill has no problem with celebrity content. They better pay up or I will bring them more legal trouble than Norman Zadeh can. IBill will be finished in the adult business because they suck ass when it comes to customer service. CCBill seems so much more sophisticated when it comes to that.
