McCaint 'Predicts' Win in Last 48 hours of Election

Quote:
John McCain predicted the general election race would come down to the buzzer Friday, declaring himself the underdog but quipping that he?d ride to victory in the last ?48 hours.?

The comment came as new polls show Barack Obama leading nationally and in several key swing states.

McCain may be hoping to reprise his nomination fight, in which he revived his flailing campaign just as primaries began.

?I?m the underdog. I?m behind,? the presumptive GOP nominee told reporters in Ohio

?I?ve got to catch up and get ahead. And I expect to do that about 48 hours before the general election,? he said with a laugh.

On a day of heavy focus on the so-called ?Unity? rally with Obama and Hillary Clinton in New Hampshire, McCain also fired off accusations at his general election rival.

He criticized Obama for opting out of public financing and refusing to join him for a series of town hall meetings.

?I would meet him anywhere, anytime,? he said. ?I have kept days open.?

McCain later added that the meetings are ?very, very unlikely.?

Since when did 'Predicts' become synonymous with 'Fixes'?

"Since when did 'Predicts' become synonymous with 'Fixes'?"

MIC and all the other major players will keep the status quo.

Of course he predicts it...because the fix is in with e the DIEBOLD voting machines..the owner of DIEBOLD is ProBush, so when millions vote for Obama and in the machine they get subtracted..ie 2000 election, then McCain will win. So of course he predicts it...I just hope the Diebold programmers have a change of heart for the future of America and leave the fucking machines alone this time

If I recall our state outlawed those voting machines.

When the fix is in, it's in ...

One has to consider all the factors that go into voting ... the machines / ballot type, ballot layout, poll judges, poll workers, poll location, voting procedure (ie. whether ID is required, # of machines, length of lines, etc), and so on.

Simply changing the machines is no guarantee of anything - even back in the days of paper ballots (which some still use) fixes were common.

Even a well designed voting machine can be foiled, if it's not physically secured - have read some stories of voting machines sitting unsecured in warehouses / poor maintenance, lost data tapes, etc.

With all that said, McCain and Obama are more alike than different ... both are big corp bought and paid for ... so no matter which one wins, it'll be status quo - Obama talks a good game, but he flips and flops all over the place, such as with Iraq - at least McCain, like or hate him, is very clear that he's going to keep troops in Iraq just like Obama presumably will, but I digress.
