My biggest pet peeve. Coders.

I get a lot of code that doesn't work.

and it doesn't work BECAUSE YOU DON'T INDENT YOUR LINES AND ORGANIZE YOUR CODE YOU FUCKING ASSHOLE.

I waste too much time cleaning up peoples code if they just kept their code tidy I wouldn't even have to fix anything because they would see their own dumbass mistakes.

I agree, I HATE sloppy and inconsistent code... I refuse to work on anyone elses code if it's sloppy and inconsistent, hell I'm working on a project for myself and I was looking at it the other day and I saw some sloppiness in it, and wasn't consistant in 1 area, I was about 30% done with it, I deleted it and started over.

Designers don't name the layers and all that shit so you get frustrated and have to pay them to make the changes.

I used to work with a guy that closed his ifs like this

}}}}}}}}}}} most annoying fucking thing, ever. That, and not only the lack of organization and indentation, but also where a piece of code doesn't make sense, they can't take two minutes out of their life to comment the fucker... So people that get passed the baton later on can understand what is going on.... without looking over the entire code 30x.

I honestly don't know anyone in the biz (besides myself) who properly names their PSD layers. I've seen a lot of PSD's because I mostly tweak things for clients and they're all unorganised and look like shit.

i never name my layers, i change up my file so many times that it would take me a decade to name each layer.

you have to sacrifice somewhere, if you want your page pro and i spend 2 hours shading it to the perfect tint you cannot expect me to name layers.

i have actually never even had a psd request now that i think of it, i am the pro what are you going to do with the psd that i cant do better and more proper?

i admit if I running through a design i wont name them... I do organize in groups and top to bottom type organization... but if the client tells me beforehand that they want the psd i go further and name... at times have even color coordinated them ... but those clients a few and far between...

totally know what you mean though...

or excess layers that are not even used in the layout :P

Or what is just as bad in Unlabeled PSD's in when a previous designer uses some random font, that they don't give to you, when you need to fix all their typos

Good times

Although Nothing beats tons of unlabeled layers that are not even turned on in the document, but just boosting file size by a few hundred megs.

...I think I just came.

Until now I thought I was the only sad, obsessive-compulsive designer naming and grouping my layers and taking great pleasure in making my code look pretty.

I've modified/looked at 20+ PSD's from other designers, and not one has bothered to name more than 5 layers of what's usually a 150+ layer PSD. Makes me want to cry every time I open one of those.

At least with code it's easy to put it through a generator to make sense of it. I love these:

For CSS: http://www.lonniebest.com/FormatCSS/
For (X)HTML: http://infohound.net/tidy/

I think he was legitimately retarded...I mean looking at the actual magazines made even, he was a douche. Didn't understand print quality to say the least - almost like he would save an image in 72 dpi and then later save it in print quality dpi for printing, lol.

Worst code I have ever worked on:
- variables named $aa, $ab, $ab, $ba, etc
- functions with named FuzzyBrownSlippers(), then a second one named Fuzzy_Brown_Slippers(), and so forth. The names made no sense
- no indentation

I swear to god coders in India don't have tab keys on their keyboards.

How about all white space removed entirely so that 1,500 lines of code is on a single line?

Yeah, same here. I don't name exactly EVERY layer, but it is at least grouped and easy to locate everything.
