RIP my best friend!

I knew for almost 15 years. You were quite a naughty little boy but you knew how far you could take it without getting in trouble. You rode with me in the SUV from FL to CA when we moved cross country. You pooped in every state along the way. That gave quite a few people a chuckle when we told that story.

You were always there for me and as I worked, you slept at my feet. After a while we ended up in NV and you loved to go up to the lake. The lake just will not be the same when you're not with me now.

I'm proud of you. When I went to bed last night you lumbered to your bed and you seemed just fine but when I woke up this morning you were not sleeping in your bed like you typically are. I found you in the bathroom, your eyes open and you were not breathing so well. You had such a sad look in your eyes that it broke my heart as you struggled with your shallow, labored breaths. I know you were hanging on to say good bye to me like the loyal dog you always were.

In no time at all we were at the vet. Your pulse was elevated but not out of the norm for a nervous dog. After all, this was as much a shock to you as it was to me. The vet did x-rays and your heart was enlarged with fluid around it. The vet did an ECG and your heart had no tissue damage but you were having trouble pumping blood out of your heart. The vet thought you'd be ok and gave me some meds for you take. I wish they'd worked.

We came home and I sat on the floor with you. The medecine did not seem to have had any effect on your breathing yet but I was hopeful it would. There we sat on the floor. Your head on my lap, you occassionaly looking up at me. I could tell this was going to be the worst day in a long time. You gave me one last look, scooted as close to me as you possibly could and passed away.

You were the one constant in my life the last 15 years and I thank you for that. I'll miss you each and everyday. Have fun up there. I look forward to the day we meet again!

R.I.P Buster! This is what I remembered.. Once, you gave me a sad look. You were trying to tell me smoking cigarette is bad while i was puffing away in your balcony, you were covering your nose. You welcomed me by jumping with happiness when you saw me first time in NV... I smiled, when I saw you waggering your cute tail as you walked with your buddy Mark side by side as he took you for a poo or pee time walk almost every hour to the nearest field. You noticed me and looked back. Oh wow! I do miss that innocent eyes of yours buddy! You slept at my feet too. You followed me up and down the stairs. You waited for me in front of my bedroom door wanting to say Good morning each time I woke up. You ate my leftovers when I cant finish my Super Large burger. There are too many good things to say abt you buddy. One thing I know now is that You are as Healthy as you were 10 years ago.

awwwwwwwwwwww ...... i know how hard that is. i've never cried as hard as i did when my dog died.

Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends, so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food and water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigour; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing: they miss someone very special to them who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. The bright eyes are intent; the eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to break away from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together.

awww.. now I'm crying.

I've been through it a couple of times in recent years with very old pets.

We take such good care of them that the live such long full lives and manage to snuggle up into our hearts and not let go. Always there and always knowing what you need. Only asking for food, shelter, and play in return. Sorry that he's gone... glad that he didn't suffer and it was fairly quick.

I'm going to snuggle up with my Chloe now.

Something about losing a pet is just really fucking awful,

perhaps it's the loyalty and the unconditional love they offer without judging or being able to talk.

I just know I had a chihuahua named Jerome that understood me and was incredibly loyal and awesome all around, then one day he got Parvo and just days later was put to sleep.

When I went to see him at the animal hospital he was so scared and shaking, but he stood up for me.. and they said he hadn't stood up for days.

God damn shit is still super sad, maybe because his life was cut so short.

But I feel your pain brother, nothing makes it easier.. I guess you can take solace in the fact that he had a long great life

I am so sorry for you. Little in life is as painful as the loss of a pet but we do it all over again because in the end the joy out weighs the pain.

I know I look at my two and sometimes flash forward to how much it will hurt me when they die. I don't have kids and I spend nearly 24/7 with them so they essentially are my kids. While I am worrying one of them will do something silly and make me laugh and remember that having them now is better than not having had them at all.

My dog and two cats all died within the past 8 months. The dog, a 15yo Pug, had a heart attack while eating (something she always got waaaaay too excited over). The cats were both the same age, around 20, and one went just 3 weeks after the other.

The first cat was hard because it belonged to my grandmother. It was nice having her cat around for so long after she passed away. Then when the cat died it was like losing my grandmother again.

exctly why more need to fight for animal rights.

these are our pets, our friends, stop the endless slaughter for profit and stand with those who no longer want to harm animals for food.

This should be your first step.

Take care and RIP.

My condolences friend, your dog is on a better place, for sure... Just remember the good old times with him and I know it's hard losing a pet, but someday you will die also and it's the same for everybody... It's the life.

RIP

My friend..I clicked only to drop of a quick RIP to what I though would be a human.

The news effected me. My girl is more important to me than most humans, Sad but try.

Heart goes out dude.
