Would Any Sponsors Be Interested In Helping Me With My Next Cure For Cancer Contest?

I don't know how many of you are familiar with the two contests I have done on another board but I want to take it global this time.

So far I have raised over $817.00 from other webmasters. I am now waiting for an epass transfer so that I can start the new contest.

For those of you that don't know what I'm talking about this is what I'm doing.

First you need to download a program from http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/te...mId=2H274R71S1

This is a program that uses your leftover CPU processing power to crunch numbers that are data used to figure out the structures of different proteins that are part of the cause of most human cancers. There is also research going on her that is working for a cure for A.I.D.S and other diseases.

This research is made available to the public when it is finished so that any scientist can have a look at it. Knowing the structure of complex molecules can lead to new drugs that will help combat many human ailments.

When you sign up you will nee to join the team called MAS_Community. This way I can watch everyone's progress when the contest starts.

Each piece of data that is sent to your computer for crunching has a point value assigned to it based on it's size. Small units of data might only be worth a few hundred points while others could be worth several thousands.

Whenever a contest starts I start adding up the points that each participant collects. I then divide the total number of points at the end of the contest and set a value for each point.

So lets say all the participants together finished 100,000 points. $817/100,000 makes each point worth .00817. If you completed 20k of those points I would epass you $163.40 at the end of the contest.

This creates competition and gets more people involved.

The last two contest I did were only on one board but this time I would like to cross post it to as many boards as I can to get more participants.

I'd also like to have a special thread on GFY and have some sponsors offer a few prizes if anyone is interested. These can be 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prices or they can be random prizes given out to anyone completing a minimum amount of points.

In the case of a random prize I would even be willing to make a youtube video showing me putting everyone's name in a hat and drawing out the winners.

Anyway this is just an idea. If your interested please post in this thread. If you have any questions please ask and I will try to answer them.

A little more information.

This contest will run for a full three months. and if GFY says it's ok it will probably be bumped at least 20 times a day by me and other people participating.

The last contest I did had a lot of eyes on it and I had only collected about $300. I feel that more money will be donated before this one starts and I might even add more myself. I also thought about giving away my brand new wii as a prize.

I think something for the sponsors who are donating the prizes should be given. Perhaps a link to their program or some motivation for people to sign up.

I'm just tossing out ideas here. Obviously it will have to be cleared with the GFY peeps.

That would be awesome, please join my team even if you aren't going to get in the contest. seeing my point count go up really motivates me to do more.

You could also participate in the next contest and get some cash or you could just donate your winnings back and I'll put it towards the next contest.

Here is a proposition I have for sponsors.

Each sponsor can donate money towards the contest. Each sponsor gets a link and the sponsor with the highest donation gets top billing and the largest hotlinked text.

I will then set up a thread that shows what each sponsor has donated and ask for permission to post it across every webmaster board. Boards that say no will have a separate thread posted so that their users are only eligible for the money donated by individuals.






A second possibility is that sponsors could give prizes and the most valuable prize with get that sponsor top billing. In this case we will still have separate threads for board owners that don't like the link codes.

I really want to do one or the other. Doing cash and prizes would be to confusing as I have to update the contest each week and calculate the winnings.

This will run for 3 months and get tons of views and lots of participation. I think it could be really big and get a lot of research done.

Basic Rules of GFY

1. No "spamming" of other ADULT Industry boards with the intent of stealing GFY members. Linking to another ADULT board in attempt to steal members from GFY will be grounds for immediate banning. This will be under the discretion of the moderators to determine "spamming." Abuse will not be tolerated.

2. Signature rules. Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of default size and color. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60. Yes there is a reason this is so big. Also putting your text in a cell and making it look like a button is against the rules. Let me repeat... A 120 x 60 button and no more that 3 lines of DEFAULT SIZE AND COLOR text.

3. Anything goes, except do not post people's personal information, or attack peoples personal lives or families, stick to the issues and the bullshit. ANY WHOIS information is considered public information, it is not considered personal information. So don't bitch at us if you put your home address as your personal info on WHOIS.

4. Don't post links to illegal sites. Calling someone a Pedo, Refferring to them as a Pedo, Stating they promote Pedo, posting of Pedo links, and Death Threats are now grounds for immediate banning.

5) Posting images of death, dismemberment, or animal cruelty will not be permitted and will be removed.

6) To cut down on the number of Fake Nicks and Surfers. You must register for GFY with a non-free email account. Yahoo, Gmail, live, etc registered accounts will no longer be validated.

Fansign Rules

Due to the large volume of Fansign threads, and the spam level abuse of some, here are the fansign rules at GFY.

1. Your 'announcement' thread has to have at least one fansign in the first post. The fansign must be for one of the big posters or moderators on GFY.

2. Your fansigns must be completed in no less than three days, and you must do at least 20 of the first posters to the thread.

3. The cannot be computer generated or simple text that could have been computer generated. That is pure spam. They need to have texture and variation to them, in other words, it has to be totally obvious to anyone that they are hand made.

4. There cannot be any conditions to making a sign, such as you must signup for an affiliate program.

If you do not like the rules, don’t do fansigns and leave it up to the girls who really want the publicity.

Contest Rules

We all agree that too many contests are annoying and fuel post whores. So:

1. No 'most posts in a thread contests'. Max 100 posts in a thread by one person.

2. No one registered in less than 60 days before can post in a contest thread.

3. Contests can't run more than 10 days. And no more than 3 contests at a time. And since only top advertisers can run contests, you need to coordinate with Eric BEFORE starting a contest.
