Bullshit... I drive a 2007 Chrysler Sebring that is a hybrid (also runs on e85) and get's 30 miles to the gallon average... almost 34 on the hwy. It's a 2.7 Liter V6.

If you are referring to little itty bitty cars... I agree... they don't have a single one on the market. My wife drives a Kia Rio and it's a hunk of junk that doesn't even get 25 miles to the gallon. It was the same price as the Sebring above.

Chrysler, GM, BMW, whomever, requires their franchised dealers to maintain a certain size building, certain aesthetic standards, certain inventory, and the list goes on. Jerking a franchise from a dealer without a buyback is ridiculous. The letter is pretty spot on.

We have an 07 Sebring (4-door) at work and its actually a fairly decent set of wheels. Handles like a fleet sedan and has been low maintenance thus far. Workmanship is also not bad.

Still, doesn't make me enthusiastic over Chrysler, tho.

What exactly is being 'given'?

it's a known risk of running a franchise... it's gotta be rough, but shit happens, that's life...

He didn't go out of business, it was taken away. There is a big difference.
He is a franchise. They can do what they want with their name and with their dealerships. Yes it sucks for him, but there is always that risk involved when you franchise. Whether it be a Dodge dealership or a McDonalds restaurant. If you truly don't want to have to worry about someone else closing down your business, become independent and don't really on another company's name and incentives to get by.

That's still not great. Foreign cars like the Civic are getting 36 MPG while their hybrids get in the mid-40's.

Damn, lots of retards who do not have a clue as to what they are talking about.
What Obama is doing now is even worst that what Hitler did during the pre-war years.
The biggest hijacking of power in mankind.

To all of the fucking idiots who voted that monster in power: You are about to get fucked in the ass so hard you won't even know what happened to you.

It is sad that this great nation is about to become a 3rd world shit hole...

The utter ridiculousness of comparing Barrack Obama with Hitler aside - What in fuck does this have to do with a Dodge dealership closing again?

What got me, and the reason I made the post, was that even after 35 years of service, staying in compliance with the franchise and being profitable there was still no job security. The fact that even though you have done everything right you can still lose everything.

Unfortunately that tends to happen alot in a bad economy. Its frustrating and demoralizing when its unavoidable.

You reap what you sow. And there is no ridiculousness in comparing the old and the new when they are the same
