There is a fair consensus that global climate change is happening. What is in dispute is whether it is actually man made or not.

It makes a difference for this reason - If it is man made than we can divert resources to preventing these changes. If the changes are only minutely influenced by our activities, that effort would be much better spent preparing to cope with the inevitable.

That's not to say that we shouldn't be friendly to the environment. I know I recycle, keep my water for my lawn on minimum settings and turn it off when it rains, etc etc.

We have had way more carbon and every gas in the air, and way less, with humans around... we don't control it. In a single day the oceans and a volcano can release more carbon than all humans can do in a year.. same with methane.

Though what made me pay attention is when all of a sudden it started being called "climate change" instead of "global warming" shortly after that study came out that said the earth had actually gotten cooler recently.

I think money is a huge factor here. The proposals for carbon taxes etc are going to net them an absolutely astronomical amt of money. It really makes you wonder what the fuck is really going on.

Before I start thinking the sky is falling I have 2 questions..

1- What will lowering man made CO2 by 20% really do when man makes only 2.5-3% of the global CO2 (this lowers it by say 1% over all)

2- If this is a world wide pandemic that will be as bad as they say.. Why is Gov' trying to profit? Fining people for CO2 is much the same as luxury tax..
Normally I see a natural disaster and the powers that be, join in with what is needed to help.. they don't tax the people... Why is profit even in the picture? Currently a number of country's have joined in to cover the cost of CERN' (in the billions of $$) with no tax on the people... What about a few billion in research for cheap solar panels?

If you feel sorry for me because I don't buy everything I see and question things a little that's fine.. But why is there a need to profit from this if it's so "end of the world as we know it"??

I'd like to see the data on the temp of the moon.. and sun Is the earth warming.. sure (its nothing new..) Before I start thinking the sky is falling I have 2 questions.. 1- What will lowering man made CO2 by 20% really do when man makes only 2.5-3% of the global CO2 (this lowers it by say 1% over all) 2- If this is a world wide pandemic that will be as bad as they say.. Why is Gov' trying to profit? Fining people for CO2 is much the same as luxury tax.. Normally I see a natural disaster and the powers that be, join in with what is needed to help.. they don't tax the people... Why is profit even in the picture? Currently a number of country's have joined in to cover the cost of CERN' (in the billions of $$) with no tax on the people... What about a few billion in research for cheap solar panels? If you feel sorry for me because I don't buy everything I see and question things a little that's fine.. But why is there a need to profit from this if it's so "end of the world as we know it"??
