The difference between "I don't really like that" to "That's most retarded thing I've ever heard of, it's amazing you have the brain power to tie your shoelaces, I hope you die tomorrow" is a pretty wide margin... people seem to think that they can "stretch the truth" as far as they want and still call it the truth but it simply isn't so.

You're definitely right. But I don't see being honest as having to be tactless as well. Honesty and ignorance don't HAVE to go hand in hand.
