Discuss what's fucking going on, and which programs are best and worst. One-time "program" announcements from "established" webmasters are allowed.

Idea for smaller programs

Larger programs can pretty much buy their traffic and they easily build marketing arrangements with other large programs, what about the smaller guys?

Here's just a quick brainstorm on how smaller dudes can get a shot at all that yummy fragmented traffic: build your own n00b traffic army. Instead of trying to compete with the big guys regarding "bigger, badder" FHG databases, feeds, and other standard stuff why not offer tools that will convert noob users into an army of promoters?

Examples: Free seo tools, free site builders based on niche, free tools that leverage social media, link cloaking tools, free tools to pimp forum traffic, etc.

These all operate on the key fact that the internet is flooded with content and people interested in that content already congregate and participate in communities. Why not turn some of those consumers into marketers? Mainstream already does this, maybe smaller adult sites can use some of these tricks as well. Maybe its time to move past the old paradigms of webmaster affiliate recruitment to account for user-centered evolution of the web (Web 2.0 and beyond). Content has become more user-centered, isn't it time affiliate programs go in that direction as well when it comes to webmaster recruitment?

If you need any more free ideas on developing this, email me at [email protected] with the subject line of NOOB ARMY so I know what you're referring to.

For the haters and critics, start blasting. I look forward to your critiques to finetune this idea. Nothing strengthens steel more than the fires of hater hell.

The one thing I've never understood is why paysites do not offer their members branded teaser vids and photos they can embed around the Internet (think blog and/or social networking sites -- offer both soft and hardcore to work around "no adult content" rules).

That would be free marketing for these sites. People are already embedding videos from tube sites...why not take control and give them the video with a player that links to the tour and join page?

Hell, take it up a notch and offer these things to the public; not hidden in the affiliate area or behind the paywall.

Corbin Fisher does this with their downloadable wallpapers available to all.

Good ideas, man.

Smaller companys really have to come up with some massive tricks these days if they want to stick around. To bad alot of the new programs try to emulate the bigger ones, thats a no win situation. Small companys are only going to survive these next few years if they can get outside of the box and do things right.

all it takes is one good thought and to follow through. No one has a lock on this industry, look at some of the bigger companys.

any newb with a good enough idea can rule the web, or thier own small corner. Its just coming up with those ideas then acting on them that makes it so hard...

The days of the whale are numbered.... programs are more successful with thousands of "affiliates" who send 1-2 sales a month vs 1 whale who sends a couple hundred.

My friend Slav said something interesting once... he said "the market is larger now than it ever was. The pie is much bigger, but it's divided into many more parts than previously." And despite that, Sharphead... there are still whales in this sea.
