I tried wheatgrass juice last night

The boys, the daughter-in-law-to-be and I went to a vegan/vegetarian restaurant last night for a change of pace. As I had never tried wheatgrass, we got a $5 shot to taste.

Let me just that a $5 shot of tequila would have been much more up my alley.

It was not tasty. And the overpowering smell of wet lawn clippings did not help.

Yep, it came in an actual shot glass, with 2 slices of orange on the side, like limes with tequila.

The orange slices did not improve the taste.

Hey, you or cherry might know this...

The veggie pita thingy that I had had this stuff on it that was *delicious*. I think it was called veganaise? Does that sound right? And do you know how to make it?

It's extremely, extremely good for you.. If you have any skin problems, wheat grass will clear it up. I can't list all the things it has helped people with, no idea how crazy good this stuff is for your body.

It's like eating all your veggies and fruits for a week in one blast, and every other little thing you could need. It's packed with so many goodies that you can consume it and nothing else, and be totally healthy. It's a great for people on feeding tubes too, on hospice, chemo people, etc.. it awakens the body. You will sleep less, wake up faster, and feel better all day, just from a few shots a week.

And btw, don't breath when you drink it and you won't taste it as much or mix it in with a smoothy, which is how I do it.

I'm growing wheatgrass at home. The 5$ shots are nothing, they go up to $10.00 depending on where you go.

When I in San Diego a few years ago I used to go to Mr. Juice and have a wheatgrass shot every morning.

i thought the human stomach was capable of digesting grass properly so we dont actually pick up any nutrients from it?

You don't eat the grass, even though you can eat it and cook with it. It grows like grass, but it doesn't look much like grass, it's hollow and it grows in the dark.. grass like, but not really grass.

Anyway, you drink the juice, a low rpm juicer to squeezes the juice out so you don't burn the nutrients during the process.

my mother grows wheat grass, your not supposed to put it in the dark...the instructions clearly say to put it near sun. How does photosynthesis occur in the dark? she buys the seeds, speads it on this tray meant for growing and cuts them about 7-10 days later. this stuff grows FASTTT, either way u wont get me to drink this stuff

Care to share any smoothy favorites of yours? I'd love something that would help kick start our days...the boy really benefits from a higher-protein diet in for his focus issues.

I don't care for the taste, but enjoy the benefits of an every other day shot of wheatgrass.

Selena, veganaise is damn good
my girlfriend is a vegan and has turned me on to things like that.
there are some really good vegan cheeses out there and I've even given my kids chicken-less chicken nuggets, haha. They couldn't even tell the difference.

You should give this stuff a try, Maximum Greens, and every GNC has it. It tastes like ass...actually it tastes like grassy ass...but a glass or two of this a day mixed with very cold water really gives me a boost in the morning, and again in the afternoon if I'm dragging. It also helped me a ton in early 2007 when I started hitting the gym again real hard. On top of the energy boost it really cleans you out, so you might want to stay close to the bathroom the first few days...
