Camera question for photographers

i need a manual camera to take some pictures of my vehicles for my limo company. i need manual because the flash makes the pictures look like crap. is there any good cameras that will work that are cheap (no more than $100 or $150) that will take decent pictures for web? i wont need any high resolution pictures.

Just rent a DSLR. You can get them for cheaper than that.

Hire a photographer or an amateur photographer. Hell if I was in the area I'd do it for free.

Based on your requirements and price range, any of the low-end Canon, Nikon, Kodak, Fuji, etc. will do the job. Just turn off the flash and shoot with sun light.

If you don't have the budget for a good camera/photographer contact your local high school or college and offer one of the photography students commercial credit for doing it for you. Seeing their name on the credits, in lieu of cash, goes a long way for them. You could always give the kid $50 plus credit for the photos.

Shoot them outside in natural light. No need for a flash. Semi overcast day, any half decent camera should do a nice job. I do a lot of car photography really enjoy it.

i'm shooting limo interiors which are dark and have led lighting, the exterior pictures come out fine even with a crappy camera in the sunlight. i found some photographers to do it cheap but i would rather have the convenience of being able to do it myself and not rely on anyone.

you can get a first generation rebel for about 200 online i believe. it also has a "p" function, which disables flash, you set your iso, 400-800, and there you go

I don't know of many cameras that don't allow for you to turn the flash off. Wouldn't a normal "point and shoot" at least have like a theater mode so fire without the flash? Then you just need steady hands / tripod as it'll prob set the shutter speed a little slower.

You are gonna be really bummed at your results because you know nothing about shooting. A good photographer can give you what you need from a disposable. Flash has nothing to do with is, it's the spots on the seats, dirty lens and dust in the air. Hire some one, you get what you pay for or trade them for limo time.

what model is it,

it has to have a few pre-set settings, like sport mode (man running) or panoramic (mountains)

either one of those will disable the flash

you will have to hold the camera very still for a couple few seconds though, does it have a timer?

i ended up buying a canon digital rebel xt. leaving it on manual setting and having a long shutter speed + tripod i was able to get some good night shots outside, but the inside pictures makes the vehicle look small even if i back up absolutely as far as i can into the wall.

if i get a wide angle lens will it solve that? if so wheres the best place to get an inexpensive wide angle? i saw some on ebay for $30-50 but that seems cheap and i dont want to get too junky of a lens.

Youre not going to get those results for under 100 bucks.

First the examples there are wide angle and from a camera beyond 150 or even 300 bucks. Youre nikon was probably more, so how could you expect better with less?

how on earth did you read that and come up with me expecting a good lens for under $100? i specifically said that i thought that it was too cheap for a lens and i asked where to get a good one.

theres some good photographers on here so i'll wait for their advice. if i need any advice on how to be a mediocre designer you'll be the first person ill contact.

Wide angle lenses are expensive, a half decent one is going to cost you more than a new camera (I presume yours is second hand). You're also at a disadvantage because your camera's sensor is smaller, which means that a 12mm lens (which is very wide) is really a 19.2mm lens on a Rebel.

There's not much to choose from when it comes to very wide angle lenses for Canon...

Sigma 10-22mm $ (cannot be used on 5D or 1 series bodies)
Sigma 12-24mm $$
Canon 16-35mm L $$$
Canon EF-S 10-22mm $$ (cannot be used on 5D or 1 series bodies)
Canon 14mm L $$$$

Where 1 $ (very) roughly equals the price of a new Rebel body.

Maybe you should have just spent the money on a photographer who has the appropriate knowledge and experience, plus the right lens for the job.

You can rent a great lens at a good camera shop, just tell them what you want to do.

In all fairness Deej is a pretty good photographer as well from the samples I've seen.

I was basing what I said on what you originally posted...

I guess it was my mistake, but you also should have realized what went wrong there being that you were the OP.
