Although I agree with your points, your anger is misdirected. Blame corrupt government and officials... that's usually where you'll find most of the problems that cause the issues facing 3rd world countries.

I myself would never donate to another 3rd world country either... they got there for a reason, and the population seems to be content with staying that way.. if it didn't they would overthrow their government and have a revolution and change their conditions, but they can't be bothered.

Don't tell me either that they can't change... the ones who were born there and come to Canada or the US by marriage or whatever have done exactly that, and I can respect that. Those that stay behind and want to live that way.. no problem. Stay and enjoy.

I'd rather try to help my own family and once that's taken care of, then maybe i'll look a little beyond my circle... but other than that... i'll watch the drama on CNN.

Well, I grew up in Panama so perhaps because of it's relative closeness to Haiti, I grew up very aware of it being one of the poorest countries in the world. While in school we used to do charity events through Yele Haiti and other programs. So needless to say, hearing that this happened on top of what the country already suffers on a daily basis is very sad.

And yeah I did donate, not much and not to make me feel better but because I hope it helps the people of Haiti.

While in school we used to do charity events through Yele Haiti and other programs. So needless to say, hearing that this happened on top of what the country already suffers on a daily basis is very sad.
