2 different and interesting "Green" campaigns happening right now.
I notice futureshop and ebay seem to be going green this weekend.
eBay with the slogan "The greenest product is one that already exists" Which is an interesting and understandable concept. Makes sense to me. And Future Shop seems to be going the other direction, they have got a huge recycling program going on. trade in old cameras and get up $100 off a new one, trade in your PC and get $100 off etc.. lots of very good deals going on. The thing I'm wondering is, what the hell will future shop do with all this stuff that gets traded in? Sell it on again, or put it on ebay? ![]() What do you think? Which marketing strategy do you think will work out best? eBay with the buy a product that already exists? or Future Shops recycle and buy newer greener and more enviro friendly products? |

"The greenest product is one that already exists" is a sensible slogan but goes completely against what seems to be everybody's natural desire for new and shiny.
I would expect the trade-in for a discount scheme to be more popular as people love a discount whether it is a sensible idea or not. |

![]() I think they are both pretty clever. I'm thinking future shop's idea is pretty good, get rid of your old and not so energy efficient stuff for new and better. Might go get myself a new camera actually lol ![]() |

I am amazed at the amount of JUNK that is being produced for green awareness. Take for example the NBA and all their green JUNK that will fill the landfills in a few years.
