a bowl of porridge in the morning.

Oats and brown rice are long chain complex carbohydrates and power you for up to 8 hours. Other carbs are mostly branch chain and only last 3 hours.

A bowl of porridge in the morning and you will not be hungry all day.

You guys can ignore mgtarheels, he's also here for forum amusement, except he spouts off information he's read somewhere, and still can't get it right. The whole concept of cutting is to shed the fat while maintaining the muscle. If you're not getting the proper nutrition, then you'll shed both and as a result, shed body weight, instead of just body fat.

Then tell me what I said that was incorrect, where I backpedaled (and yes, it's "backpedaled" and not "back peddled" ya moron).

Hilarious, mgtarheels is back to his predictable style of backpeddling(yes), and irrelevant misdirection. Same routine each time he gets his ass handed to him.

Btw, losing muscle isn't considered an "adverse" effect. Perhaps you should look up the meaning of "adverse" before continuing to look stupid.

I thought this would turn into an amusing thread, and GFY did not disappoint!

By losing weight I can only assume that you want to lose fat and preserve as much muscle mass as possible.

Therefore,

1) Figure out your BMR and consume ~ 500 calories a day less (I'm not getting into ratios of protein / carbs / fat because the different natural body types - mesomorphs, endomorphs and ectomorphs, must eat differently to achieve the same results). Use common sense. Tuna on whole grain with a side of brocoli is better for you than lasagna and 3 sticks of garlic bread. Try to keep most of your carb intake earlier in the day, not at dinner time.
2) Do cardio. Yes, at LEAST an hour a day of low intensity cardio. Preferably 45 minutes to an hour in the morning while fasted, and 45 minutes to an hour later in the day (but not too close to bed time).
3) Weight train. None of this low weight high rep bullshit. Lift heavy (to preserve (and since you would essentially be a beginner, you might even be able to build muscle) what strength and lean tissue that you do have.
4) Supplements. Don't go crazy, but some whey protein, a good multivitamin and some essential fats (yes, fats) will do wonders.

According to Mgtarheels' hilarious stupidity, one has nothing to do with the other

I would go with more than 500 because most of the people here spend their lives on the computer, and there metabolism is slow.
Quote:

1. Low intensity cardio is shit. It's been statistically proven(and I can show you), that short spurts of HIIT(High Intensity cardio Training) give you the best chance to burn fat and preserve muscle. Doing 45 minutes of cardio is going to start knocking off muscle because your glycogen levels are completely depleted.

I'm not sure how one can work out and NOT have whey protein. If you're targeting 1 gram of protein per 1 pound of LBM, you need protein shakes. I have this shitty tasting lipotropic protein that gives me 25 grams per scoop, and it has 69 servings.

I agree about the HIIT - What I was suggesting was bare minimums.

Oh, that LG Sciences Lipo? Ick. Yes, that is shit :D I like ON's 100% Gold Standard natural.

Yea, LG sciences lol.. I was 100% into ON, and the taste was awesome. But the LG was $20 cheaper, had more servings, less carbs, a fat burner, and more protein per scoop..

I'd go with "self ownage" here, but I've beat your ass so many times that it's just not worth it anymore. I feel bad for you but please, keep lying to yourself with each subsequent post, there's a reason nobody else is taking your advice, or responding to you other than "you don't know what you're talking about."

The irony of it all is that neither of you two have been able to point out something that was incorrect. For you, however, I've corrected you on many things.

If you think cutting = losing weight, well then LOL.

Actually what we did was point out everything you said that was incorrect. You just continue to deny it, nor have you proven anyone else wrong. So once again..

Yep, and the ownage continues. I love embarrassing this kid. He then parrots my insults, proves he doesn't know what he's talking about, and leaves crying like a bitch

Btw, for your information, since you're already getting your ass kicked.

http://www.myfittribe.com/articles/2...ting-mean.html

I mean I didn't have to post that but everybody already knows you're full of shit and you can't regurgitate information properly. Also, if someone wants to just lose weight, they say "lose weight", not "cut", which entails the maintenance of muscle mass with fat loss increase.

From your own article:

Cutting is the process of losing excess fat to decrease your body fat percentage to a point where your muscular definition, visible separation and vascularity (in bodybuilding and fitness, the term vascularity pertains to the visible appearance of veins below the skin) are at a point you are satisfied with.

Again cutting =/= losing weight. Thanks for proving me correct.

Glad I had to throw more sausage in or else I would've missed you look stupid, again.

Except nobody ever said they were the same, hence the different definitions. Owned again

I'm glad it worked for you, but most people have different ways of achieving maximum results, hence the general info

Yea we know. MGtarheels is a moron that comes to this forum to regurgitate information and he can't even do it properly.

Low carb high fat, you dont need to exercise! You dont need to care about calories either. Eat until you dont want more...

It really is no rocket science:

Your basal metabolism is say 8 000 kJ per day

If you sit by the PC whole day you may burn say 10 000 kJ per day

So if your intake is 10 000 kJ per day you're even

Make sure you eat the right things, not processed food,

Food is your fuel and food is what your body is build from, if you eat shit you're body won't look good

So take say 5 small meals a day, meals that make sense, don't torture yourself with food you don't like but find something healthy that you actually like

Then you need some protein, at least say 1 g per kg (2,2 g per pound?), you need more if you do weights, you can raise it to as much as 2 g per kg if you do weights, but not more otherwise the body will store it, and not use it for regenerating and building muscle

The rest should be carbohydrates, complex carbohydrates, not processed

Try not to do more than 50 g of fat a day, fat is in everything and it's essential, your hormones need fat, but not more than cca 50 - 70 g of intake a day

Put together five meals a day that correspond with that above and give you say 10 000 kJ

Each meal say 15 - 30 g protein

5 - 10 g fat

30 - 60 g carbohydrate

(very roughly) but it really is not rocket science

NOW you need to raise the amount of energy you burn:

I am doing 600 calories which is roughly 2 400 kJ per cardio session, which is say 50 minutes of intense cardio

You may start with less, say 1600 kJ per session which is 50 minutes in lower pace or say 30 - 35 minutes intense, I recommend a longer work out because it takes as much as 15 minutes till you start to burn fat

Also, you shouldn't go over 70 pct. of your maximum heart rate, measure your maximum heart rate and keep it around 70 pct. during the whole cardio work out

That means your intake is say 10 000 kJ but you burn say 11 600 kJ a day, which is good and you can play with it, do whatever works and doesn't make you feel tired or something

That way you'll be slowly burning fat, be patient at the start, keep the routine, keep discipline, already in one month time you'll be able to see first results

Just a very rough example of the process ..

Let me get this straight, you're saying it's easy to cut and maintain muscle? You're even going so far as to say you even gain weight? What weight would that be on a cut? Muscle?

Are you taking AAS while on this cut you speak of?
