It is "loosely" based on the early days of Epoch....but I would not call it a "true story" in the sense of it being autobiographical. I mean lets be real...this movie centers around a kidnapping and the Russian mob's involvement in the business and none of that is true. If you are going to see a documentary on the early days of porn on the internet then you will be let down, but if you want to entertained and see some of the funny stories you may have heard about back in the early days played out on the big screen you will enjoy it!!!
