I lived in Mountain View... and Sunnyvale for over 25 years.. The only other place I'd rather live weather wise would be San Diego.
Just got 2 expensive.

Yeah, but if you're moving there and a buyer, those property values really suck ...

Even though prices are starting to fall a bit ...

http://www.bayarea.com/mld/mercuryne...ss/4781023.htm

It's still WAY to expensive to live there. Get ready to put a hefty chunk of your paycheck into housing ... be it rent or mortgage ... cause it's going cost you ...

Where do you guys come up with this bullshit?

I lived in San Fran as a single female for four years and NEVER had any trouble meeting straight men ... either in the city or down in Silicon Valley ...

I RARELY encountered gay men at all ... but STRAIGHT men always seemed to be obsessed with San Fran's gay population ...

I can't tell you how many times I've heard this bullshit line,"It's hard to find straight guys in San Fran ... isn't it?"

Like somehow I'm supposed to want to fuck them right on the spot because there's some alleged shortage of straight dick or something ...

Dream on ... there are plenty of straight guys in the city ... and I had a great time with them all!

SJ sucks. You should either move to Santa Cruz and be a beach hippie or move to S.F./Marin County and live in the best city in the US. Very expensive though. But what do you care, you make bank.

PayCounter is in Santa Clara, CA. On the north webstern border of San Jose. Come by when you get into town. We'll buy you a beer.

San Jose is pretty boring.. they are finally getting some decent restaurants & a few good bars. Most people head up to San Francisco if they want to go out and party.

There are some beautiful places to live in the south bay area. Los Gatos, Saratoga, Cupertino, Los Altos Hills... The only problem is the price of the pads. A nice house in one of those towns is gonna run 1.2 Million for a started house. ;)

It is expensive, but it's a great place to live.. Virtually no crime, great Data Centers!, Awesome weather, beautiful hills... it's nice just really expensive.

This is all true. Capitola, eh?

You don't know a guy with the nickname "shotglass" do you?

Just one big shit grid with stripmall boxes. No architectural personality whatsoever.

I grew up there but moved to Capitola early on (south of Santa Cruz) cause SJ was just the worst.

I lived there for a while. It gets a bit warm compared to Santa Cruz. I'd chose Felton over Scotts Valley.

Dude, do yourself a favour and go just a bit further to San Fran. It's only like a 30-45 min drive away, and the city is so much better.

I've been to San Jose, and I swear I thought the city was built by Disney. Too damn "clean" and "goody goody" There really isn't a personality to the place, I guess it's cause it's a fairly new city.

GO TO SAN FRAN INSTEAD!!!!

I live in San Francisco and grew up 10 minutes away in Burlingame. So compared to here San Jose weather is like Hawai, lol

Correct. So it sucks if you can't afford it. On the other hand if you can afford it then you can make a fucking killing in real estate here. Nothing beats owning expensive property that goes up 10% yearly

okay, I was born in San Francisco, in July, and as Mark Twain said, the coldest winter I ever experienced was a summer in San Francisco.

I love partying there, and spent my youth on Haight-Ashbury during the heyday of the late 60's, but Meloman must have lived in the Valley if he thinks LA is hot all summer long. Having lived in San Clemente, you know the reality of the Southern California beach scene.

You can always tell the transplants, that is for sure.
That is waaaay cool that you lived in 60's SF. That must have been one fucking fun party

I've never lived in Southern Cali and don't really know much about it. The dozen times I've gone to DisneyLand, Universal Studios etc.. is the most i've seen of it. And since every time i've gone it was sometime in the summer and the weather was like 100 degrees, then i just assumed So.Cali has killer all summer long great weather.

But overal I still love the Bay Area. I wouldn't move away from here for anything. I think it's the greatest place to live. Property value isn't crazy expensive here for nothing

Just my
