Good Wordpress Gallery Plugin

Can anyone suggest any plugin for wordpress that creates galleries, and when you click on an image, it loads it full sized into it's own page (opposed to some retarded javascript/ajax pop-up).

I've been messing with nextgen, and it seems to be the closest to what I'm looking for, but it's not quite there. Any other apps similar to nextgen?

Thanks!

We use nextgen gallery. I've tried a few others after reading good things about some of them, but have always ended up going back to nextgen.

You can disable the jquery shadowbox stuff pretty easily which should give you the results you want.

One thing that I would recommend though is to integrate the gallery functions directly inside your loop/code instead of using the short code stuff.

As far as I know nextgallery does not open each picture in a new page... if you say, it does, show me a live example, but I think it doesn't. (unless they changed it in the last version)

Also, the WP built in gallery system, does not do it either. It just opens a sub-page with a small picture, but and then goes to the picture directly.. but it doesn't open the picture in full size in a new page.

The only ones I found are some paid plugins, but still are not to easy to handle.

.

it does, you have to use the nextgen gallery template system, so you can make it open whatever you want.

UUGallery is the only way to go http://www.uusoftware.com/news_ultimate.html

Just a little reminder, that shit was the child of the Jew Cat's mind, which I was eventually fucked out of, but still love dearly. Best system I've ever used...

Yea, I disabled it and right now it's set to open an image on it's own page but it doesn't look very SEO friendly and it just opens the image, doesn't show the gallery below it.

What do you mean about integrating the functions in the code? What does that get me?

Also, thanks for the replies on UU guys, I may try that out if/when my blog starts pulling in some $$, but right now it's a mainstream blog and only pulling in about 200 visitors a day =/ Still working on link building / SEO

Here is a good example of what I'm trying to achieve with Nextgen, if anyone has experience with it

http://boston.barstoolsports.com/hot...el-sterling-2/

What I did so far was just check 'Show Imagebrowser', but that made the galleries look like this:

http://www.myaspornblog.com/internet...model-top-hat/

I don't like how the image you clicked ends up below all the content. Is this perhaps because I'm not using a custom attachment.php page? Does Nextgen call on that page to open images?

Also, is there a way to change the link format so instead of ?pid=10 it can say like ?pid=CallistaModel1

Thanks for the help

I tried asking this on the WP forums but they're sometimes useless there, I was hoping some experienced bloggers would know what i'm looking for here I basically want to know what page I need to edit in order to scrap the top shit off of this page
http://www.myaspornblog.com/internet...op-hat/?pid=12

so the content begins at callista_model6 thanks

nextgen doesnt use image.php or attachment.php

it uses its own template system, look in the nextgen-gallery/view folders

you can place them in your theme dir also, it will check for that location first.

if you have the exact outline you want, i can probably do it up for you. i might have some free time tonight.

Hmm, I went through that folder earlier and didn't have any luck. I messed with imagebrowser.php and it seems that had no impact.

Do you know the file it uses?

A template I'd like would be exactly like the link at barstool sports
http://boston.barstoolsports.com/hot...el-sterling-2/

See how it has

[Main Blog Image]
[Blog text]
[NGG Gallery]

then when you click on an image at the bottom, it goes to a full sized page and shows:

[Clicked Image Full Size]
[Blog Text - good for link to site]
[NGG Gallery]

Thanks

uugallery looks sweet but I can't afford to plop down $450 on a server license right now I am definitely going to be making galleries on multiple domains so a server option is the best option for me. I doubt my host has it either.

You need to set the permalink settings in nextgen.. don't forget to update your general WP permalink settings too.

K, i'll do some searches on this and see if I can figure it out. I seen the permalink option in the settings, I checked it, it messed with my gallery but I'm sure that had to do with updating the general WP settings which I didn't do.

Yeah, you don't need to change anything in the core wp permalink settings.. just go in and click save once you set the permalink options inside nextgen.

Weird, when I did that, clicking on the image didn't show the image. I wonder if it's due to my permalink setup?

it hacks the core files in wp-admin.

which you really shount do, meaning everytime you upgrade your wp you will have to reupload the hacked files from uusoftware.

ps.

vanilla, if you want the code for the nextgen template i can give it to you.

in wordpress gallery, you can choose to open to new page or to image. It is in the gallery settings I believe. A lot of people like UUGallery.

Yea, i've seen that, and I think that's what sites like http://egotastic.com/ do. I tested it out and it was really buggy for me, maybe because I had nextgen installed or something. I also have edit my attachment.php page, which shouldn't be a problem should I choose that route.

The big problem with that method is it greatly slows down adding galleries. Doing one image at a time sucks, but then again if I only do 6 or so images per teaser gallery, it may be worth it seeing as it's exactly what I'm looking for.
