Clearly the solution is more guns!!!!
Boy, 4, shoots babysitter for stepping on his foot
JACKSON, Ohio ? Police say a 4-year-old boy in southern Ohio shot his babysitter because the sitter accidentally stepped on his foot. Police said 18-year-old Nathan Beavers and several other teenagers were babysitting several young children in a mobile home in Jackson on Sunday when the shooting occurred. Witnesses told police the 4-year-old retrieved the shotgun from a bedroom closet and shot Beavers. Police said the child was angry because Beavers accidentally stepped on his foot. Beavers was hospitalized with minor pellet wounds to his arm and side. Police say another teen was also injured with shotgun pellets. Jackson County Sheriff John Shashteen said authorities are investigating the shooting. The child has not been charged. news link |
Why try to even make this into an anti gun argument?
Obviously it was just non responsible gun owners and if anything an argument for more responsible ownership and the use of trigger locks - especially if you have kids. |
Wtf>>>>>>>
|
clearly, the answer is more target practice, that 4 year old should have gotten a headshot, geez. what's this world coming to.
|
Guns should be kept in secure locked cabinets, while kids are around at least :2 cents:
Happy new year Richard and please send my love to Donna. |
Yea, nobody talks about the people who were all killed when guys pushed their way into their house, or some poor schmuck who has his kid stolen at knife point. Nobody talks about the fact that gun crimes are much much lower in states that do not have licensing restrictions...But some complete asshole leaves a gun laying around and all guns are bad.
If the kid set the house on fire should we outlaw fire? |

Blame the parents for letting him to get access to it.

fire fire fire is good some little kid burnt his house down with a bic lighter then later on all disposable lighters require a safety, fucking pain in the ass |
Kids in a trailer park in Southern Ohio? The only tragedy here is that the kid didn't get a clean shot and then turn the rifle on himself...

I rarely see a disposable lighter with a safety. |
Gun freaks are pathetic.

solution: dont give poor people guns. or make it expensive so that they cant afford it |
Quote:
You said all disposable lighters in you're statement, i know what bic is, had no idea the brand now has a safety feature in all it's lighters if i need a lighter i dont give a shit what brand it is as long as it works, and like i said earlier i have not seen a safety disposable lighter in a long time. for the record: I think all lighters should have safety on them. |

"several young children in a mobile home in Jackson"
there you have your problem |
What's the law in Ohio for something like this? Isn't the gun owner responsible for the safety of his firearm?
|
Quote:
Bic has a metal spring tab on top of the roller that makes it harder to press down to turn the roller The cheaper ones the roller is spring loaded so you have to press down on it You just never realized that they were safety's, because that's why they designed them like that. Like I said, you have seen them, just you really didn't know what it was. No big deal, just stating facts. BTW: It's a federal law, so yes they ALL HAVE THEM |

The small penis gun theory is old, played out and not accurate.
Guns save lives. Guns put food on the table. Guns protect women from thugs. Guns are fine and guns are good. |

Got ya, they need to do better though. kids come in all shapes and sizes and it does not take too much pressure to get a disposable to work, infact i would think a kid would see it as a challenge. |

i think it has something to do with a baby or young toddler age child that doesn't know better, or might not even know what a lighter is. a baby will have a hard time a 7 year old will light them no problem |
Baddog, see how dumb you are. You thought posted pics of lighters without safetys.
you are owned again, lol |

They used to have those levers you had to push in in order to engage the valve. Not sure what happened to those. |
Gun control laws would not have prevented this accident so it isn't even worth talking about. Even in countries with gun-control and in proposed American gun-control laws, shotguns are legal and fine to have. The problem in this incident was the weapon was not properly stored... no law would have prevented that. That is just stupidity.

Hell, even here in The Netherlands, people can legally own guns. But they'll have to spend a year getting the license (which includes joining a shooting club for courses and such), and if there's any indication whatsoever that they might not be responsible weapon owners, they still won't get a license. |

We could of medicated together, everything is cool thanks, I'm not sure about Vegas yet, I always come back sick, will let you know though. |

I cant understand why you are saying Baddog is dumb, so the press down of the flint wheel makes the lighter safe in your opinion? |
Quote:
dam man you are that slow? on the net billing lighter (bic) the metal spring tab that wraps around the center of the thumbwheel that is a safety before that they had a plastic piece that had to be released in order to depress the valve the metal tab is the new version a couple years old the metal spring requires more pressure to spin the wheel the other lighter in your pics the thumbwheel is spring loaded and has to be pressed down a ways in order to make contact with the flint here is a nice video to help you along in this great challenge |

Guns are great, but they need to be kept out of little kid's hands until they can be taught how to use them safely. |
