Windows Media .wmv Help....Please
I have a bunch of .wmv files I made for my new site..........and I am having a problem....maybe one of you guy know the answer.....I uploaded the clips to my htaccess protected directory and the clips work.....but everytime I click on a link to one of the files the windows media player asks me for my username and pass again.....Any way around this?? It should not do that being that I authenticated my pass when I logged into my members area........any help would be appreciated...........I am not new to the biz but am new to the video thing and need to fix the problem

How are you linking to your WMVs in your html? If you use the <embed> command on a seperate page for each clip, then Media Player doesn't have to authorize itself every time. Check out www.webmonkey.com for some great ways to embed your videos, and a seperate page is nice, because it allows you more room for advertisements. ;)

okay, I can't put codes in here or it wants to make it.
start embed type=application/x-mplayer2 name=WMPlayer pluginspage=microsoft.com/windows/mediaplayer/en/default.asp showcontrols=1 showstatusbar=1 animationatstart=1 transparentatstart=0 SRC=whatever.wmv autostart=true end embed. Of course, you'll have to insert quotes and codes where you need them. Hope this helps, sorry for posting so much. |
