Approx time it takes to gain a PR?

Say i had a site that had a PR of 0

Would my PR rank higher quicker if i bought 2 PR4 links instead just 1 PR4 link?
Im assuming the more high PR links you have on other sites the better, but does it make it quicker to gain rank? I know it will gain you a better PR but just wondering on the time it takes to actually do it.

Say i bought some PR4 links, can i expect a bump in page rank within the month?

thanks

Why do you care about PR?

Looking to dupe some people into paying to advertise on your site for having a high PR?

Seems google is very slow at handing out PR these days. I had a site for a year which was doing extremely well in google and everywhere else which had no PR. It just recently took on a PR2.

I think g00g updates pr status about every 3-4 months. There is also talk that paying for links will cause you to receive a penalty. You can gain pr points for free by using a site like thunder-ball.net to get link trades.

But, in all honesty, page rank has limited meaning. If you are wanting more visitors to find your sites via keyword searches, pr won't help you much. However, if you are looking to build a site and sell it, some buyers are fooled by pr status.

In my personal experience, in the most recent page rank update, my site dropped a level in pr but places better on search results.

Yup. What they said: Takes about 3 to 4 months for links to change your PR.

I would not dismiss PR completely but I would be more concerned about building a site that people will stick to once they find it. The Google toolbar monitors how long people stay on your site after Google sends people to it. Build a good site that people like and Google will keep sending you people.

But, yeah, overall Google regards porn sites as suspect. My home page is a PR 6, or at least it was last time I checked. But even so, when I build new galleries, it takes Google about six months to start sending people to them.
