I thought the definition of an addiction to a drug is that it takes more and/or stronger version of the substance to get the feeling you like from the drug, tolerance, and that when the drug isn't available to you there are significant unpleasant physical symptoms. I've seen alcoholics go through the DT's, it's very obvious that alcoholism is a very physical addiction. I don't think cigarettes are really a physical addiction, the withdrawal symptoms aren't serious enough, they are mostly the product of psychological stress.

I think there are behaviors that are both psychological and physical addictions.

Smoking or drinking or doing anything every single day of your life is compulsive behaviour at the very least, whether it's soft drinks, beer, cigarettes, masturbation, weed, running, video gaming - and compulsive behaviour is stress related.

So anyway I thought it might be good for me to stop for a few months so I can lose weight. I made it a little over 2 days. By the 2nd day I was a wreck from zero sleep and feeling like I wanted to tear someone's head off. I just picked up some Deep Space Indica and a large bottle of chocolate milk. I feel normal again. Anyone else find they just prefer to be high all the time? By the way the only method to stay high seems to be buying the best o the best and switching out strains every few days.

stopped smoking weed in 1986.... don't like the high :2 cents:

Typical retarded pothead defense.

You are aware there are plants that kill you if touch or eat them?

Everybody's addicted to something so ...

Rochard 07-16-2015 06:44 AM

I've smoked pot twice my entire life. The first time it gave me a headache, and the second time it was no big deal - I felt silly.

I don't feel the need for anything to enhance my life.

dude, welcome to life! if you give more thought about it, what is life in general you will see that everything is, basically, synthetic. in this realm, humans can't produce what nature itself can't produce. you can't make something out of nothing.

If you can't understand who / why others don't want to live their lives in a drug induced fog, then you need to stop and look at yourself and whats wrong with you, that you can't. This question is one that only someone with a major dependency issue would ask.

dyna mo 07-16-2015 08:01 AM

i would suspect there's more going on than just trying to stop schmoking- life, job, girl, etc, something else is clouding the issue(s).

Once for me.

I missed a concert that I really wanted to see because I was too stoned to remember it. Did not like that one bit.

Not for me.

I don't understand how anyone could be on that shit and able to work! When I did it in my teens and a few times in my adult life all it does is make me VERY hungry then I eat and go to sleep. My ex partner though smoked it and did awesome designs and when he didn't have any his designs really sucked and took longer to finish.

I just can't function on that shit. I wish I could, it's a lot better then the pain pills I have to take daily just to be able to walk.

Ps I even tried eating it. lol the last time was a few months back. I tried to brew it in a coffee maker without coffee BAD mistake doh.. but drank the whole pot in 10 mins then I ate the buds out of the coffee filter which was a lot of them.. When it hit me, I had to go to bed fuck food, I was in bed my muscles where twitching and jumping and I was praying to anyone that could here me to make it go away.

There is 'withdrawel' when you stop drinking coffee, or smoking cigarettes, or eating sugar, or going gluten-free, or.....whatever. Withdrawel is not the issue. Heroin withdrawel is one of the worst experiences imagineable (apparently) yet you can get through it in a matter of days.

No, it's the psychological aspect of 'addiction' or 'dependency' or 'recreation' we are talking about here. For that the 'cure' is not absolute or even scientific.

Bottom line: If you feel something you are doing is diminishing your life experience on a regular basis (this can include drugs, food, relationships, work, almost anything) then STOP.

Not forever maybe, just for now. And when it comes to weed, smoking it again won't kill you so chillax.

Yes the Marxist bots and white knights always call men who believe in equal rights a misogynist or woman hater. They can ever come up with a more intelligent response.

I've been smoking since 14 as well, from the morning to when I went to sleep. I wish I could smoke occasionally but it's just not possible for me.

I started very young as well and I gave it up 7 months ago exactly. It was real hard the first few months since I was a wake and bake person. I still think about it sometime but I won't touch it anymore. I drink now once in a while.

Like there aren't feminazi man haters who masquerade under the feminism title, and believe in 'equal rights'. And like mineistaken isn't a racist, but just seeks 'equal rights' :1orglaugh

Cure for that is quite absolute and very scientific. First of all, it is well known how addictions form; countermeasure is opposite for how is the addiction formed. Though you can't really get rid off addictions (brain wise), only diminish those.

You know, every time you do something that causes pleasure (reward); it makes certain neural connections stronger or establishes new connection(s), if it is new thing. When you do that pleasure thing over and over again it makes those connections stronger. So, basically you can't get rid of that connection once it has formed, but you can weaken it by not doing that thing that caused that connection/ making it stronger.

That why the cure is to make less that addictive action/ not at all.

That is psychical dependence. That one is hard to get rid of.
