When the one guy posted the CapsOn thread (he must have had some personal problems with that gallerymaker maybe) the other day, everyone could see it was a fact, i saw it with my own eyes, i didn't just "assume" it...

Maybe he's not listed anymore now (it's quite some time since the other guy's thread was started), but he was listed at that time. So at that time, it was a proof, not just an "assumption". If you don't allow hotlinkers, ok, fine :) That's all i asked about.

Regarding http://gallery.soakedmovies.com/12/21/index.htm. What's the problem with that gallery? Do you know if that guy doesn't have a deal with that host? I don't? I certainly NEVER EVER got ANY complaint from them. There were some hosts in the past that complaints, they're all blacklisted at their own request. But this host never wrote me about this problem.

I don't know the reason's they are not complaining, fact is you're assuming the host has got a problem with it. They should simply drop me an e-mail and I'll take care of any problem they might have with this. Right now you're assuming they have a problem with it, I don't know anything though. So there were no facts in that other thread as well. No 'proof' for any double standard I might have.

But there are a lot of people out there that WANT to read things a certain way, want to interpret things in such a matter that it would show how good they were and how bad I am and what double standards I would have. I know it's fun to expose something, but I searched my mailbox for "soakedmovies.com" and NO message came up. Everything before June 2002 is archived, I didn't search there, but I -assume- the guy 'wrote' me after that. So gone the 'proof' about reports and gone the 'proof' about any reports.

The good thing about a simple standard is that I don't have to think long how I would have reacted. So if the guy didn't get a reaction from me at all I know something else must have been wrong. Maybe I didn't get the e-mail. Maybe the guy didn't e-mail me at all, after all, he posted that message on a public board for me to find out about it today... Not much of a report, is it?

If someone reports this, like you're doing now on this public board, I check in to the matter, see if there are complaints from the host in question, and if there are no problems and if I'm not in further contact with the host then that's the end of the story. I can't know what deals soakedmovies has with his host. If I find out in any way that -for sure- he's illegally hotlinking then rest assured, he'll be blacklisted. 'till then I can't have a problem with this.

Whew...none of my domains are on there...I have had a few blacklisted in the past because they went to a free host 404 or my 404 during a server move or something silly...but every gallery I have ever made on my own domains is still online. No reason to delete them unless I eventually run out of space...then I guess it would be safe to delete three year old galleries.l

The 'leachers' had no significant part on @home's bankruptcy. It was the shift of resources that put them under; taking operating resources away from their core broadband aspect and putting/wasting those funds trying to develop the "branded, broadband version of aol" with excite@home.

I'd done that couple times to test new hosts. I kept my HTML on old host, movies on new ones to see if the new server would collapse or slowdown but fortunately my hosts have been good like that. If it did I'd just upload another HTML to link to the movies on the old. Also done that between my own servers.. if I had a domain I wanted to use to get bookmarks but the server it's on was already getting good enough traffic I hotlinked to another one where the traffic was lighter :)
