I am sure somebody said the same about columbus and sailing ships in to the unknown...we are new at space exploration and there is a learning curve to it, not every mission will be a new and great discovery, but if you do not go out and explore you will never find anything new...china is already planning on mining the moon for helium 3...india did a mission to mars at 10% of the cost of the US mission...you do not know what lies on mars for sure until you go and see...it is much much better spent money than WAR INC...exploring space is the future for mankind...

FYI: Curiosity was sent to Mars by Russian rocket technologies, because America can't build its own ones. Just sayin' :winkwink:
