FileFolks.com, new file locker, lost Paypal.
It's a bit like cutting poppy fields with sticks, the poppies come back, it's going to come to the point where we need to start pouring on the petrol and setting fire to the poppy fields. |

Seem's FileGag.com is having problem after problem, first Paypal, then Moneybookers, then Payza and sadly they have now lost their second Payza account. Sucks to be them. Sucks to be their affiliates.

Speaking of the WJunction forum, what if we tried to convince the payment processors to leave there?
I noticed quite a few have their own sections and threads there. Given that a lot of these filehosts seem to originate there, maybe removing the payment processors' presence will help the 'campaign' against filelockers? If they say no, that could be used against them to show they're supporting these pirates. I'd message them myself but I don't think they would take an individual seriously :/

What I would like to see is payment processors unilaterally enforce their policies and scrutinise their client base more closely. Some rather large processors unwittingly become hubs of money laundering because they place profit above adherence to process. |

ebay's total Q3 revenue = $3.4 billion
"It’s payments unit, Paypal, recorded revenue of $1.35 billion for the quarter, up 26% from the year-earlier period. Paypal had 113.2 million active accounts at the end of the quarter, up 13% from a year ago." keep up the good work AdultKing... im sure ebay will make sure that paypal gets it act straight, with your help of course |

Keep going brother. Once you get them to see what is happening and they shut down processing for these kinds of pirate sites..the game is over for them.

Ultimately it needs Paypal to realise UGC that's not monitored is always open to piracy and illegal content. Then these sites will have to go look elsewhere and we won't have to employ the Whack a Mole method.

Talking about that. I reached 150k unique visitors yesterday and about 230 uploaders. I did my first payout 2 days ago which brought me many more uploaders overnight. I'm finding out there are so many payment options including using Paypal indirectly (even if you have a banned account) that there is very little to worry about. There is basically no way to stop this

I think it actually needs cooperation from credit card companies. There?s a mountain of evidence out there that shows what these file lockers actually make their money from. All one needs to do is point them in the direction of the pirate forums like pornbb, forumophilia, kitty-kats, etc. I highly doubt any on these files lockers could match file for file legal files on their service compared to the illegal files linked on these boards.

This campaign is far from over, to the contrary it is pretty much still in the initial phases so nobody is worried at this point that people are not jumping in head over heels, early adopters and individuals / groups that can see the big picture are already getting on board, there is no doubt in my mind that the early majority, late majority and even the laggards will follow suit. As this campaign progresses people will simply realize that the Copy Control Group is and will remain the most effective way to combat commercial piracy for the long term.

not quite in the same league, but seen a legit filesharing/backup/briefcase company called sugarsync using an affiliate program that can sit alongside your public share directory. You can guess what people are sharing and putting in their shared folders :! Nowhere near as public as a trad filelocker, nor do you require it for access, but i know first hand of another company that is planning to go down the same route. They rationalize it as "friends and family" and "viral" upsell, but you can see where it is going to end up. Dropbox dropped their one in 2009, but it is a damn fine way to increas your userbase.

There have been numerous file locker sites lose Paypal, Payza, Moneybookers or 2CO since this campaign began. We have reported many but not all of them (for operational reasons). Every week we remove processing from more and once a week I have been posting a list in this thread and on the Stop File Lockers website. Establishing Copy Control has been no small effort. In the past two weeks the following things have happened. 1. Established the corporation Copy Control Pty. Limited. 2. Launched and invited people into our collaboration system based on Podio. 3. Meetings with several rights holder organisations. 4. Numerous telephone meetings with Paypal, Mastercard, Visa, other rights holders associations ( a total of 11 hours of them in call time) 5. Established an office solely for Copy Control in Melbourne City. 6. Implemented a brand new accounting system for the corporation. 7. Worked on many back end systems to assist our investigations and continue to improve them. It has been and remains important to ensure that the structural aspects of Copy Control are properly implemented. We have many other things happening which we just don't and won't talk about. We do not ever discuss operational matters, we do not discuss targets unless strategically desirable to do so, we do not claim responsibility for any actions of any payment processor. With or without support from the wider community Copy Control will keep on doing what I started with Stop File Lockers and then further develop it's scope of operation. Far from losing momentum we have gained a head of steam and are building a resilient operation which will become even more effective at tackling commercial copyright theft. |

FileMates.com, a site we repeatedly removed payment processing from is now for sale on Flippa.
https://flippa.com/2791778-file-sharing As the people who own and run Flippa are just down the road from us, we're going to try and organise a meeting and discuss whether it's appropriate for a fine upstanding Melbourne company to be allowing the trade of such sites. |

It seems like File Factory is trying to clean up it's act. However we have collected damning evidence against File Factory and will be posting it over the weekend on Stop File Lockers.
In the mean time.... poor uploaders being slapped by their own file hosts. more to come. |

FileMates Part III: The Sell Off.
We first looked at FileMates on June 29 here: http://stopfilelockers.com/filemates...phy-and-music/ Then we took a second look at them on July 3: http://stopfilelockers.com/filemates...second-coming/ Now after burning through payment processors they are attempting to cash out via Flippa.
