Judge rules Obama appointments unconstitutional

A federal appeals court ruled Friday that President Obama violated the Constitution when he sidestepped the Senate to fill open spots on a labor relations panel, in a major setback for the president.

Obama is evil incarnate. The devil. Or the devil's spawn. He very likely has a three 6's birthmark on him somewhere.

A republican friend of mine said so.

Why does everything have to be approved by Congress? I understand checks and balances and all of that, but not every last thing needs to be run past Congress. The more that does have to be run by them the more difficult and time consuming everything gets, and then Congress plays it's games and it's a lot of time and effort wasted and nothing gets done - on top of that we often end up with the second or third choice to run an office.

If Presidents are allowed to stack "congressional" committees then he can just push through those committees any thing he likes. Sound fair and balanced?

Maybe it is because we have more important things to lose than time as ordinary citizens?

actually You may think that my opinion wouldn't make matter though since i m not an American, but United states, which is a great country have been wasted at the hands of these 2 evil parties imho...

so to side one by the other is useless, one of them using Your gun rights as a tool for their populism, the other bible thumpers use something else.

Your right. Clearly it's much better if Congress just blocks everything.

This is why nothing ever gets done. Instead of making a decision and moving forward, the fight over who to put in the position, fight over every little change, and then turn around and blame the same person for the problems.

Fucking awesome. We have a president with a law degree and that specializes in Constitutional Law... Who violates the Constitutionin in a VERY routine process but gets a free pass and is defended for it.

The Idiocraxy is almost here. Wonderful.

The level of stupidity in this thread is typical for GFY. At issue is that the Republicans kept pro forma session during their recess to prevent Obama from making these appointments. They decided to test whether or not the appointments could be made and a lower federal court has ruled that they cannot. You guys act like he raped your mama or something.

Well obviously this is much worse than outing a CIA agent, lying to start a war, and committed war crimes via torture.

You're exactly right...that's why there hasn't been an ATF director for seven years. Congress is too busy chasing steroid users and pointing fingers at each other. And hey, if you had that kind of job security why work at all? I means those guys got voted in once back in the eighties right?

This is what I'm saying. At a certain point in time, it's just no longer worth the fucking effort.

This is not a Republican VS Democrat thing. The ATF hasn't had a director in seven years. Why didn't Bush put one in place? Why didn't Obama do it in the past four years? Because it's going to take too much effort, time, and resources, and once they get in office it's just gonna be more up hill battles to get things done.

Look at what's happening to Hillary. One hundred and fifty men using trucks armed with heavy mounted machine guns attack an embassy and they are blaming this on Hillary saying it's her fault - Never mind that Congress plays a huge part in funding security for the embassies. WTF?

This is all Congress does at this point - plays games for political capital. Picking the right person for the job is not longer even remotely part of the process.

People like you always fail to realize that people like me dislike both Democrats and Republicans, so when you see me talking about how your Democrat leader is violating the constitution the first thing that comes to your mind is "But, but... but but George Bush also violated the constitution!"

Yea, no fucking shit. As if that makes it okay? They're all a bunch of crooks with no respect for the law. Get a clue.

You can now be spied on with no protection of privacy and be indefinitely detained without a trial thanks to BOTH of these stupid ass parties that you all constantly defend and argue back and forth about.

No surprise.

Judge who ruled against Obama?s recess appointments has long list of ties to republican party shenanigans dating back to Oliver North

Because I'm the exact type of person that you're talking about. You see someone like me call out Obama for his bullshit and automatically assume I play your 2-party game and that I'm some Republican who is butthurt that my "team" isn't in the White House so it's my duty to bash Obama any chance I get.

The President violates the constitution... and instead of saying "Hmm, that's all bad, our elected officials are sworn to obey and respect the constitution," you focus your energy on looking elsewhere to place the blame or try to rationalize why it's okay.

Based on your logic... it's perfectly fine to violate the constitution as long as it's a Republican who is the one calling it unconstitutional.

Brett, you always twist everything into a Republican vs Democrat issue. And not everything is. Your bitching about Obama not appointing someone to lead the ATF, but your last Republican president failed to do either. You hatred of Democrats is so bad that it's blinded you to everything.

Right because the Constitutional Lawyer/President who's sworn to uphold the Constitution on multiple levels, really should just do whatever he wants. Save the reply, we all know of your liberal fanaticism and that Black Jesus can do no wrong in your eyes.

When people are nominated by a President to become Cabinet members, the Constitution requires that they be confirmed by the Senate before they can take office, so that facts about them can become known before they are given the powers of their offices. Although President Obama complied with this requirement when he appointed Cabinet members, he also made other appointments to powerful positions created by Executive Orders ? people aptly called "czars" for the vast, unchecked powers they wielded, in some cases greater than the powers exercised by Cabinet members. These "czars" never had to be confirmed by the Senate, and so had no public vetting before acquiring their powers. We had unknown and unaccountable rulers placed over us.

If you think this is a GOP VS Democrat argument, you need a good phonics program. Because I don't believe that if a president does something morally wrong, it's ok for the next one, apparently you do! I never brought up what Bush did, that's history, going to deal with the present and a president that's an asshole to the American people and the people too stupid to realize it!

Carbon is not the problem, it makes up 0.041% of our atmosphere , 95% of that is from Volcanos and decomposing plants and stuff. So people in the US are responsible for 13% of the carbon in the atmosphere which 95% is not from Humans, like cars and trucks and stuff and they want to spend trillions to fix it while Solar Panel plants are powered by coal plants
think about that
