You are right - I did not give proper consideration to potential damage to the cornea. But at the same time, Skittles, with it's hard sugar coating shell, can be just as deadly.

We should ban both popcorn and Skittles in the movies. And perhaps Licorice too, because I see issues there as well.

The weight of the butter would not significantly alter the weight of the popcorn. Unless you put a lot of butter on popcorn, popcorn will always be light and even more so when spread out over a wide range.

You will see more of this with people being able to carry everywhere. People can shoot someone and then say I felt threatened.
Its very rare someone dies in a fist fight. I was a bouncer for over 10 yrs, saw lots of fights, a few bloody noses no one ever died. Now if a few of those people were carrying guns,there would of been dead people.

sorta on topic here, I was walking back from the local grocer on my block yesterday with a gallon of milk and a bunch of other things in bags in both hands. the block was crowded with people so I slipped in behind what appeared to be a homeless guy who was cutting a path through the other pedestrians coming from the opposite way. I was prolly 4 steps behind him and as he was looking around, I guess outta the corner of his eye he caught me being in his same path.
He stopped abruptly and turned around glaring at me like *wtf are you doing coming up on me!??* My response was to not make eye contact at all and to make sure I had a bit of a smile on my face as I pretended to not even notice he was attempting to escalate the situation. I got home safely and enjoyed my groceries.

i understand what you are saying but it does come off as though you are attempting to justify what happened as being the victims fault. i do the same as you, avoid confrontation over stupid shit. apparently this is not the first time the shooter has a problem with someone texting in that same theater. he followed a woman into the washroom several weeks back after approaching her about texting according to the news.

The texter did not deserve to die. I've never even implied that. Again, what I've stated is due to his lack of common sense, he chose to engage in the escalation instead of walk away. Consequently, he's dead now.

Again, I've read the entire thead over and have a difficult time finding any post I made that justifies the shooter killing the guy. And again, I don't use words like fault. Or blame. Not in this thread, not anywhere.

Look I spend most of my time in downtown Los Angeles, a myriad of confrontations await me right outside my building's door 24/7. I am coming from a perspective that has to avoid those daily. It's not some random psychotic L.A. stranger responsible for my safety and well-being, it's me. I choose to not act like a dick to people IRL, instead, I try and do the opposite and just walk away. People die and get fucked up down here all the time.

Just recently an argument broke out between 2 patrons at the local tiddy bar, the argument escalated as it moved outside into the parking lot, one dude got in his car and drove it into the other guy, pinning him against the brick wall. He doesn't have any legs now.
