Makes sense.

It does. RTFM.

Torpedoes work with propulsion, those don't punch through sub's hull that is designed to take quite extreme pressures. If nothing else, the resistance of water makes it quite hard to reach sufficient velocities to punch through something hard, even if shot. Watch some series of Myth Buster where they shoot objects in water. Those bullets don't reach very far.

I don't know about the US torpedos, but Russian "Shkval" with a weigh of 2,7 tons and a speed of 370 km/h (I bet your car can't move such fast), penetrates through any submarine or ship even if it's not detonated. That's why they call it an aircraft carrier killer.

P.S. As an offtopic one more toy which can be used to attack anything from below the water and above - a flaying torpedo which can be equipped with a tactical nuke warhead (no analogues in NATO):

Maybe, but with velocities that low it sure as hell won't make round hole. Still, I am not convinced that it would penetrate sub's hull or might not even ship's. Of course depending about ship, as for example ships for ice conditions are naturally much more hardy. Ice doesn't move that fast, but the pressure is much more.

For comparison: WWII torpedoes like G7a moving 74 km/h and weighting 1,5 tonnes, did just bounce of from ship's hull if not detonated.

370 km/h is low??? What are you talking about? It's almost a bullet. A bullet with a weight of 2.7 tons. All experts say it don't even need to detonate (watch the French video at 00:40) and only you say it will bounce. It's a simple physics. Where did you get your education, man?

Now please tell me your version about the penetrating hole in the "Kursk". Everybody can see the damage came from inside (note the dent form).

Even shotgun shots travel about 1300 km/h and bullets about 4300 km/h. You still think it is like bullet?

I already told "my version". I don't know what it is, but might be hole used to lift that sub up. Or maybe some service hole hatch blown away.

I don't speak nor French or Russia. Nor I didn't study physics, I studied business. But sure, throw us some calculations with your great Russian physics education.

You can hear English on the background. Also there is Google translate. Have you heard about that service?

Pff, every kid (the 7th grade of mandatory school here) knows this simple formula: p = m * v (have you get knowledge in some Afghan a cave?) So in case of "Shkval", it will be 370 * 2700 = 999000 kg*km/h (277500 kg*m/s). This impulse will penetrate anything like a paper from side to side. No warhead needed.

P.S. So what's your version regarding that penetration hole on images banned in Russian federal media?

Yeah, you keep offering that google translate, but it works best for written text. I have no intent to try to write there something I hear from some video. And when I offered you the same service, you just spitted on it. It seems to work just the way that I should translate Russia.

About the version; I have told it twice now. Google translate it if you can't understand it.

Yes, I was teached by Bin Laden. Now you know it.

1 110 000 kg*m/h (WWII equivalent) didn't punch through things like paper (didn't at all). What you have there is ten times that, but it still puts some doubt to the end results you present.

Ok, now I see that Man, once again, 277500 kg*m/s is more than enough to go trough anything.

An another offtopic. AK-47 can shoot even underwater (not just to it like clowns from the stupid show did in a video above). Watch this:
