It is interesting to see that the VR hype seems to have died.

VR now seems to be sold as 360 format for bloggers and dashcams rather than for VR footage.Not so long ago it was about making VR footage, but the new 360 cameras do not seem to bother with that as a sell, but rather a way to get steady footage for such as bloggers.

A way to select footage after you have shot, to produce non VR footage.

I just did a deep dive of my VOD and offsite content sales last month. YanksVR videos make 500% to 600% more than a Yanks 2D video does. The average VR consumer spends much more. VR and really AR are eventualities. The new Meta Quest 2 is amazing and the 3 will be even better. I do believe so much VR content is crap and many producers aren't doing it well. The headset is still an issue for porn, but it will continue to grow and evolve. The problem with adult is that unless something or someone explodes over night it is shit to them. They don't look deeply enough at what is really happening. After the initial investment, VR isn't that much more to produce, so 5x and 6x are awesome multiples.

I remember seeing Ice-T (rapper) on a show (I think New York Undercover) playing a game with a "VR Headset" like 30 years ago. Looked awesome and I wanted one.

A clunky headset with 2 bitch ass joy sticks seems like an unnecessary burden to someone who just wants to knock a quick solo one out unnoticed.

I can't speak for everybody, but when it comes to me and porn, VR has a lot of evolving to do before it can replace the convenience of my phone and hand. Gotta be able to feel it to be worth it. Brainstorm is one of my favourite science fiction movies. I loved it. If you get a chance to see it in a theatre or very big screen TV, watch it. Most of Brainstorm is presented in a 4:3 aspect ratio and in mono sound, but expands into 16:9 Widescreen + Surround sound whenever you see the view from a character wearing the headset.

The director, Douglas Trumbull, was also trying to get his own special movie format called "Showscan", which was a high frame rate (60FPS I think) camera and projection system. One thing VR companis can do with their old hardware is just forget the VR part, and instead just make 3D content. Since it would be shot on 2 cameras and delivered in true stereo video, the 3D-ness (Wordsmith!) is perfect as it is 2 distinct vidoes from 2 slightly different points of view. If the video is shot and delivered in 2K + 60FPS then you would have a pretty realistic 3D experience to offer clients.

There is plenty of stuff to do in VR that doesn't involve movement unconnected to your actual physical movement.

Fitness games like Beat Saber track you as you swing your arms, duck, move from side to side etc. I spend 5 hours a week or so in a boxing simulator 'Thrill of the Fight' where your whole body is tracked as you move around your room, punching and ducking.
I watch all my movies at home in VR now on a big screen in a simulation of a Chicago apartment. You can paint in VR, learn to play the piano etc. The possibilities are endless.

VR/AR glasses absolutely will largely replace all other computer screens (as well as TVs) within 10 - 20 years.

With all respect the interest in the musical genre of hip hop and rap music, in general, has been declining steadily since 2004. It's still popular today but overall the talent is slimmer and weaker than what was - the listeners know this. If the curve doesn't stop they'll risk being in the "rock" category which hasn't produced anything new and good is a long time.

That being said - with rap you're only hitting a small demographic that more than likely doesn't have CC to use unless it's from parents or their efforts on youtube.

Someone has stated that people are confusing 360 cameras with VR cameras.

I thought about this and disagree.

360 cameras are a different version of a VR camera, but none or true VR anyway.

360 is VR in the regards you can move left right up down.

360 can be done with often a front and back lenses or many lenses around such as a large ball.

If you refer to vr being a camera with two lenses at the front, but at a different angle, so when you have a headset on, you get a depth, so it feels real. However you do not get to move left or right or up and down. more point of view.

True vr would at this stage be computer soft wear, where the computer generates a full world, that where you move your head you with with a headset get a different version both left and right to give depth. And as you move your head the view changes. Also the sound would have to match. So if someone is speaking,on your left, that you hear them on your left with a tiny delay hitting your right ear. But once you look at them the sound should sound as if the person is in front of you. Of course this takes a huge amount of processing power and data.
