What do you think an acceptable Bounce Rate is for a paysite?

Considering the various ways webmasters are sending traffic to your site, what do you think is acceptable?

Here are some shots off a tube pay site I had sold earlier this year. I think this is pretty good.

Buy comparison, here is a traffic tube site and it's bounce rate.

That gives you a rough idea. I am sure that the result will vary by niche, volume, and where the traffic is coming from. I tend to focus on lower volume, and quality converting traffic.

Google Analytics specialist Avinash Kaushik has stated: "My own personal observation is that it is really hard to get a bounce rate under 20%, anything over 35% is cause for concern, 50% (above) is worrying. I stress that this is my personal analysis...."[4]
I work for sales, or conversions. Not Alexa e-penis.

Yea those are good numbers though for a tube or any free site your bounce is going to be lower than an actual pay site. You doesn't want free porn?

Was that a totally free tube or a hybrid pay/tube?

The first example, was a tube hybrid pay site (first 20 seconds free, then must pay).

The second example is more of a traditional traffic tube (full length free).

When it comes to paysites - and I run 23 of them - I don't focus on 'bounce rates' as much as I do on overall 'stickiness'. (MY definition of stickiness: over 2 minutes+ on site, with at least a click thru to the Join page)

Remember, some of these surfers have bookmarked your paysite, and are coming back for a quick glance to see if you've updated, or to re-consider buying. Some will come back 3-4 times, for 5-10 seconds, once a week before Joining.

So I ignore 'bounce' and look for a 'stickiness' ratio of 35%+. Anything under 30% and my chances of a sale drop like a stone; anything above 35% and a sale is almost gauranteed.

Time on site + click thru to the Join page tells me much more than bounce rate.

Nice post and feedback sire.

I have not looked at all the different niches you promote, but sounds like you have your traffic down to a science.
