Does anyone have one of these or something similar? I want to charge up the battery for my still camera, can you use this for that?

try checking out the actual website and you will see it is for smart phones and ipods only.. You have to put on a different battery cover that allows the phones to charge.

So they say, "just clip on a sleeve and drop the phone on the myGrid".
Why is that any more convenient than just plugging in a charger? Now you have to locate some sleeve to charge your phone. It's an illusion of convenience. Someone gave me the Powermat as a gift, and I can't even charge my Droid, because I have to pay 45 bucks for some accessory to make it work. Bullshit.

Exactly. It's a novelty product only. Thier TV adds make it apear like you can just put any electronic device on it and they will charge.
