Today, most public drinking water supplies are fluoridated, especially in larger cities. Counting everyone, including those who live in rural areas, about 64 percent of Americans drink fluoridated water.

Fluorosis is considered the main downside related to fluoridation.

According to the CDC, nearly 23 percent of children ages 12-15 had fluorosis in a study done in 1986 and 1987. That rose to 41 percent in the more recent study, which covered the years 1999 through 2004.

"We're not necessarily surprised to see this slow rise in mild fluorosis," Dr. William Kohn, director of the CDC's division of oral health, said in a recent interview.

23% up to 41% seems a bit more than a slow rise

Tons of contaminants are absorbed through the skin when you shower, including the chemicals in your soaps, body washes, and shampoos.

It is impossible to prevent ALL poisons from entering your body, but clean water should be assumed.

I've never drank bottled water before. Tap water is about 300ppm, filtered it's <10ppm here.

Okay so what does this "poison" do?

I never said that fluoride contributes to a longer life span, just that life spans are getting longer. Correlation does not necessarily equal causation.

The point is that if people are living longer, healthier lives DESPITE this apparent long-term gonverment conspiracy to control and "poison" the people at every opportunity.

Anyway, enjoy your paranoid delusions. You seem to find comfort in them as if you know something that everybody else has missed. I guess if that's what it takes.

See, the fundamental flaw with the argument that "the goverment" is some shadowy organization working together for a common goal on a long-term time is that it involves people. People always work for THEIR best interests, and those change with people and time. That is to say that if somebody in control 100 years ago had an secret agenda, there's no reason to believe that the people in control 100 years later would share that agenda. In fact, it's ridiculous to believe they would.

Sorry but your shower water filter is not removing any substantial levels of fluoride. Not even reverse osmosis removes all of it. If you want to avoid the toxic waste byproduct from the aluminum and fertilizer industry (sodium fluoride) then you will have to drink and bathe in distilled water. Even better you could move to the countryside and dig a well.

I have had signs fluorosis on my front teeth since I was a child. We moved to a city that adds sodium fluoride to the water and it showed up within a few years.

Sucks when 98% of the human population are complete sheep. As a child I never had a choice but at least my daughter is not drinking that garbage.

This whole deal is nothing new. Get your water tested. I called a company and they did it for free.

Fluoride wasnt even an issue, Chlorine was. My tap water had the same levels as a public swimming pool. That will kill you as well.

I put a triple filtration system on my sink for drinking water and problem solved after retesting. Change it every 6 months and I'm good to go. People need minerals in their water, just not super high levels. Dynamo is right, buying bottled water really fucks up the environment plus adds to oil prices.

After reading this thread I didn't realize so many people on GFY are that fucked in the head.

Fluoride wasnt even an issue, Chlorine was. My tap water had the same levels as a public swimming pool. That will kill you as well. I put a triple filtration system on my sink for drinking water and problem solved after retesting. Change it every 6 months and I'm good to go. People need minerals in their water, just not super high levels. Dynamo is right, buying bottled water really fucks up the environment plus adds to oil prices.
