If you knew someone was cheating would you tell? One of my sisters friends hads been cheating on her boyfriend the whole 2 years they have been together. The poor guy is a really nice guy and I feel bad for him but should I tell him or just let it be?

The worst part is everyone knows but no one wants to break his heart. If my boyfriend was cheating I would want to know wouldn't you?

if you feel bad for the guy, tell him. its one thing if the girl cheated once, felt bad about it and stopped. but if she is continually cheating why even bother being in the relationship? just don't get yourself caught up in the drama....

If you want to help your friend, set up some way for him to find out on his own, preferably without him knowing you know. It's gonna strain your relationship with him otherwise, he will very likely blame you somehow or at least associate you with the mess subconsciously.

Too many unanswered questions to do anything but mind your own business.
Is she cheating with the same guy/woman/couple?
Is their relationship a "perfect" one in his opinion? In hers?
Are there children?
Is one financially dependent on the other?
Does one have medical problems?
Etc, etc, etc

There are many reasons someone cheats, there are many reasons the one cheated on will sometimes look the other way.

Just remember once you throw a rock you can't stop the splash or the ripples.

That wasn't really what I said. I said that you may not know the dynamic of their relationship. She may be a liar and a cheat but on the other hand, he could already know about it and they have an agreement.

If your sister is the one that is his real friend then if an approach to him is made, it should be from her.

I was in a similar position once. One of my best friends back in the 80's joined the army for 5 years to get his mechanics papers. While he was gone I saw his fiancee, a nurse at the hospital I worked at, get out of a car after sucking face with a scumbag guy I recognized. These were not "thanks for the fun date" kinds of kisses, they were more like "thanks for wild fuck can't wait til we do it again" kind. She saw me as she walked from the car and knew that I'd seen her. Eyewitness thing, nailed dead to rights.

I mulled over and belabored the dilema of whether or not to tell on her for a long time before deciding to just keep my nose out of it and let their situation work itself out. I wanted to rat her out but didn't want to lose my friend, which she assured me would happen. Sure enough they eventually broke up after he found out on his own.

The thing of it is, once he confronted her she assumed it was me who had told, which of course let him know that I knew and didn't say anything. He was suitably pissed. But as luck would have it I didn't lose my friend over it, because he forgave me after hearing my reasoning (and my apology).... but it was close. I honestly don't know what hurt him more, the fact that chick he was crazy in love with betrayed him or that his best friend knew and didn't tell him.

My point is, there IS no "right way" to handle this kind of thing. You tell and you risk much. "Mind your own business" as some suggest and you can still end up on the shit end of the stick.

Honestly if I had to do it all over again, same set of circumstances, I would tell my friend the truth and let the shit fall where it may.
