I watched CNN spend 2 days saying over and over that the networks "might not" cover the President because of his "lies".

I am sure that all candidates and and government officials spin the truth, and at times lie outright. However, there is a huge difference between stretching the truth and sticking to an obvious outrageous lie that is easily proven to be a lie.

This sure does sound possible - five US embassies in the Middle East were the target of protests because of this Youtube video. Obama and Hillary were professional liars? Sure sure. Obama went eight years without a single scandal while cutting unemployment in half, and Hillary went through a dozen investigations without a single charge.

Take Trump out of it. Didn't Obama once request to address the nation, and the networks said no?

The networks lose money when they do this. They don't want to do this. When they do this, the network heads meet at the White House and discuss if they should do it or not. Did CNN pressure the other networks not to air the speech? Sure. I am sure a number of networks were against it.
