Epassporte accounts, who got em?

To be honest we see FAR to few using that system compared to what was expected

Not to mention they dont have an email notofication system that sends mails to your inbox so we got to sit there refreshing or logging in all the damn time.
Epassporte: will this be possible in the future?

yeah we are using Paypal as well on the side, but implementing Multicards as CC soon.

Just bugs me that epassporte seemed like a cool system, but just lacking that final touch to work

We got ePassporte and until I get my card to withdraw my money the link to them is inactive. No big loss though.

They have some very fundemental problems.

They waited for me to ask when I was going to get my Electron card, to withdraw MY money. You have to actually ask them, they do not include it in the package.
When signing up you have to tell them within 7 days the US DOLLAR amount they charged your account. This is useless if you are not in the US or do not have online access to your credit card account.
They charge $5 for every $50 or part of $50 you deposit with them. So with the merchant being charged 8% plus, a very nice minimum 18% and little chance of fraud.
No email to verify the money was paid. The reason I was given was "Confidential" info. Like that the guy just spent $200 with me?

Pity the industry badly needs a replacement for Paypal, they will have to shape up before they are that option.

Seems to sum it up. I'll at least give it a try but until they can be bothered to do something about that 7 day thing I can't. I'm not THAT interested at this stage that I want to bugger about faxing stuff everywhere just to try to open an account. I never have understood why they want to make it difficult (read impossible for many) outside of the US to get an account. Seems it will never be a truly viable alternative until they can sort stuff like his out rather than being happy just to ignore any problems.

I'm in the US and I can't seem to get an account. I have tried with 2 cards and both declined so fuck epassporte. Now that I read about their ridiculous fees I wouldn't have used it anyway. Who in their right mind would?

I'm happy with my ePassporte personally and we use it very successfully at FlashCash to pay out webmasters. Its the only way we are able to pay people instantly for signups. That in and of itself is pretty cool, imho.

Armand, if you still want an eP, sign up for Flashcash and set your method of payment to ePassporte. we'll create an account for you with your first sale.

They have some very fundamental problems.

They waited for me to ask when I was going to get my Electron card, to withdraw MY money. You have to actually ask them, they do not include it in the package.

>>> The Electron Visa Card is separate for the Virtual Visa and has an additional cost. ePassporte does not force you to get an Electron Visa unless you need it. So yes... you must request the physical card.

Hmmm.... Force everyone to get an Electron card??? Maybe you've got something there.

When signing up you have to tell them within 7 days the US DOLLAR amount they charged your account. This is useless if you are not in the US or do not have online access to your credit card account.

>>> This verification system works very well in the U.S., but we have found that it indeed presents a problem for many non-U.S. customers. We are in the process of implementing a new verification tool that would be much easier for those of you not in the U.S..

>>> I actually don't understand what it is you're aksing for here. I don't see any reason why an email verification system can't be put in place to address your concern. Please be specific about what you're looking for and let me see what I can do.

Pity the industry badly needs a replacement for Paypal, they will have to shape up before they are that option.

>>> We are always open to your ideas about how to improve the functionality of ePassporte. Post here or drop me a line at rand.pate @ epassporte.com and I'll be happy to tell you how we might already have a solution for you or present your ideas to the ePassporte team.

From what I understand, if someone with a commercial account wants to pay you, they can create a account for you even if you were declined. They make the account and send you funds with it. Then you can send the same funds to any other epassporte account. If you want to withdraw cash, you pay one time $35 for a ATM card. If this is true then anyone can get a epassporte account. You just can't upload funds to it without a cc. This is what I gathered from talking to KK. If this is all correct then I need to get a commercial account and start paying out epassporte. Since I will be able to create accounts for guys that have been declined before, then literally anyone that I pay out to should be able to recieve funds thru epassporte. Is this correct Rand??

Choker,

You are correct. A commercial account holder can create ePassporte Virtual accounts on the fly and an Electron card is an option. We are able to offer this because commercial accounts are funded by wire and the fraud risk is significantly reduced.

For those of you in the U.S. that can't get a card because you've been declined, I'd be interested in hearing more about the reasons. If you can verify your account (via the pending transaction amount we use to insure you are who you say you are and meet Visa's "know your customer" rules) then there is no reason to deny your card unless you don't have available funds or you're using a fraudulent card number. If the transaction is denied by your bank, there's not much anyone can do about that.

Tipsy -- It's in our own best interests to make the process of getting a card or opening an account as easy as possible while at the same time protecting our product from fraud and thus insuring the success of the product for everyone's sake. We don't sit around trying to figure out ways to make this difficult for people. Quite the contrary.

Rand the biggest problem I see is that most guys use paypal to both recieve and send funds, where a commercial account with you is more to pay funds to others, while funding this account from wires. What I need is to initially fund it with wires, get other guys to pay me with epassporte, then I will no longer need to fund it with wires. I need to be able to withdraw much more than my daily limit with your card allows. From what KK told me, I would need to pay my personal account from my commercial account in order to withdraw funds. And again this ATM card limits the amount per day. To incooperate a way to use the commercial account to do all this is what will make epassporte convienent for most people. IMO

charly, we did not wait on you to ask for your Electron card, there is a link in the admin to request it. Since there is a fee attached to the card, we do not simply assume that people want one -- some people are perfectly happy to use their Virtual Visa number that comes with the account, or their eP account itself to move their money around and don't see the need for the Electron card.

7 days is plenty of time to call your bank and get the information for verifying your account, that's a full week and even banks in S America can give you information in that amount of time...

No email to verify the money was paid? There is a very simple script that you can use to handle the verifications automatically or you can use the manual verification process if you are a smaller merchant, I don't say this as an eP person, I say it coming from the fact that Spotbrokers has been using eP from day 1, and we were guinea pigs for alot of different things in the system, so we've seen the progress.

If 8% doesn't suit you, then my suggestion is to either get a merchant account and deal with it or sign up for third party EU processing and pay 12-15% per transaction.

I don't dislike you charly, but what I do see many times is that you spend more time on your personal grievances -- which may or may not be shared by others -- than you do working productively on a problem. I understand if you have tons of free time on your hands, and if so, then my bad for even mentioning it.

There was a mixup on your account, I'll be the first to bring it up before you do -- but I also told you when you finally came to me with the situation that had you come to me in the first place we wouldn't have been sitting around with me having to figure out what happened and what to do about it -- I'd already have known what was going on and wouldn't be asking others for their knowledge of the matter...

Couple things here (choker if you tell everyone we talk they will think you really are my new wallet lol)

1. Commercial accounts are funded via wire transfer only. They are not eligible for credit card load.

2. Anyone can get an eP account. They can either get a personal account loading with a cc, and if that cc is declined there are a couple of simple hoops they can jump thru and get the account -- this is a fraud control issue. It's not perfect yet, but you realize that we have to balance risk management with thruput in order to run the business effectively.

3. If you want to immediately have your funds, then transferring them your personal account and using your ATM is the easiest and cheapest way to get it -- your other option is to have the funds wired out of your account and pay the wire fees -

I'll be out most of the afternoon but you've got my cell Choker

Edited because some strange words turn into hahaha's around here.
