It sure would be interesting to see the contract. Seems to me the best thing for all parties at this point would be to simply terminate the contract. Yes litigation can be expensive, but it will be just as expensive for the plaintiff, and in this case and it appears we have a judgement proof defendant on the other end. She has a very simple and legal way out of the contract if she wants it. If her financial situation is as dire as she puts it (not enough to cover rent) all she has to do is file chapter 7 bankruptcy and the contract is over, and there wouldn?t be anything that could be done about it.

yeah, because taking your clothes off and modeling is much harder than running a program. dorm bucks pays 65% to affiliates. they would be 25% in the hole before processing and hosting and other fees with your payment structure.

if a model signs a contract for $250 a month and shes worth more, then thats her own damn fault if she doesnt get more.

If she has no assets, suing her for anything other than not complying with her current contract would be pointless. For anything to hit her credit record, or for her to file bankruptcy while having no assets is just a waste of time and money.

Obviously the relationship between model and producer has broken down. The guys at DormBucks took the higher road by not opening up and letting out the details from there side, which as par for them, is respectful. As professional as I have seen the guys at DormBucks ever present themselves, I have no doubt they will work to a favorable conclusion with you Mandy. There is a lot to running a website like yours, and it may come as a surprise to you that what you thought you could make is far less than what occured. Give the guys the benefit of the doubt before you try to further publicy front them out for something that should have stayed between you and them and off the boards.

stop fantasizing about what you think is going to happen cause in all honesty... it probably won't. best to move on, forget about it and find yourself another way to make money.

It isn?t much of a scar anymore. You can buy a house, car or anything else. A typical bankrupt gets 20-30 pre-approved credit card offers two months after filing. These are unsecured and often at a lower interest rate than the cards they filed on. 20 years ago it was a scar nowadays it isn?t. I am not saying she should or should not do it. I don?t know her situation, but it certainly is an option for her and one that will get her out of the contract.

Its unfortunate that every site doesn't make everyone involved a millionaire. Its hard to say what will work and what won't before you try. Giving the model 60% is great, until you realize that you can't effectively market the site for your 40% share unless you have deep pockets.

We are happy to make a 20% PROFIT from any website, after processing, hosting, affiliates, marketing, legal, etc --- splitting the profits with the model 50/50 is fair. That works out to about 10% of the gross. If its done correctly, everyone can make good money. Some sites fail, and the blame is hard to place or accept.

Any model who gets a percentage deal should be thankful for anything above 20%.

No offense meant, I understand that models are important, but they are also a dime a dozen in most cases. Finding somebody who knows how to build, maintain, and successfully promote a pay site is priceless.

I've had models under exclusive contracts that stated a specific figure that they were paid PER SHOOT. Fuck giving up a percentage of my hard work and years of investing in networking and education to somebody who can be replaced so quickly and easily.

Treat the models nicely, pay them a fair market price per shoot, and if things really work out well?Give them a kickback just to be nice.

Walk away from the computer. Pick up the phone and call Brett or Tim and either work it out or walk away. You are not doing yourself any favors and you are digging yoruself a bigger hole with every post.

I don't know any of these people personally and therefore don't much care, but if I remember from my school days correctly, any contract that deprives a signee of a livelihood is invalid.

i.e. if she makes her living from modeling then she can model, regardless of any agreement. Especially if her current contract wasn't providing her with a reasonable wage.
