Are any of you people Scientologists?

someone has to be. its getting too popular for some of the herd to not get sucked into it.

i used to drive past the huge dianetics building in san diego on 4th ave and wonder what kinda people actually go in there.

KB is one of the enlightened few that believes an intergalactic ruler 75 million years ago came to earth on DC-8 looking spaceships to blow up millions of aliens on the hawaiian islands... and follows the teachings of a homophobic, sci-fi author and convicted felon who announced he was going to create a religion because "thats where the real money is". It's probably what keeps him so centered and successful.

i'm actually asking because i was on the plane from tampa to vegas with this guy who was one for 20 years plus. i was looped up on xanex and alcohol because its how i travel best,(like a drugged up cat). this dude was telling me all about it and it didn't sound all alieny and stuff. so kinda was wondering if there are some of them in the adult herd.

just curious. my religion is music, so i won't be delving into anything anytime soon.

Yea I think he didn't pay his taxes or something.. I remember watching some documentary on him.. If I'm not mistaken when he originally started his scientology BS, they sailed around the world on their own cruise ship because he was a wanted felon.

I study Scientology, just a little bit though. It is interesting but like all religions, you can't read too much into them or you'll lose your mind. You might want to look up Urantia. It's has some good theories. Elvis was a huge Urantia follower.

No way, Scientology is a crazy person religion, reserved only for eccentric celebrities and other coocoo heads who think they have the power to heal by touch.

About 12 years ago I had a co-worker who was. He would constantly bug me to come down to the "church" and check it out. I went down one afternoon and checked it out so he would stop bugging me. All was normal until he took out some soup can looking deals tied to strings and asked me to hold onto them. Attatched to the string was what looked like a voltmeter. I forgot their name for the device but it went all the way to one end of the scale and he started saying I was not in a "clear" state. He then said I had issues from my past lives and that I was carrying around with me.

Basically he ended up saying for around 3g they could put me in the "clear". My response was "dude, I manage a pizza place, I can't afford 3g"

After that he got even weirder. He was a driver and I would send him on deliveries, he would come back 3 minutes later saying the pizza was delivered. The place I remember sending him to was all the way across town. I told him there was no way he delivered it. He said he was able to slow time down and get it there. About an hour later the customer called and said they never got their pie. He said they were fucking liars and were trying to scam us. He got fired.

True Story....

a statement with lots of depth.

that just about sizes up every belief system based on the metaphysical.

stupid camel jockeys in the desert this week burning churches because of something an old catholic says.

problem is, otherwise intelligent people still have this need to "feel better", and this makes the various religions very popular.

all this "my god is the one true god" shit separates people, contributes to much cultural hatred, violence, and actual death of millions of people. wars are fought over it, airplanes fly into skyscrapers because of it, children of "infidels" are slaughtered because of it...

nothing new under the sun.

if you put all the good religion does for humanity (and it does do some good) in a balance with all the harm it does for humanity it would be interesting what the net result would be.

Nope but I am a big fan of Tom Cruise and his 'The Last Samurai' movie.
