Fucking idiots wrap a three year old boy in tape and a blanket and leave him in a closet to die a slow death while they go to a family reunion.

Personally I would think that this would be more indicitive of why I know that Evil is way more prevelant in people than a faith in GOd.

just more reason why i do believe in God, i believe his soul is now in peace and protected, i truly believe in final judgement, i am not saying heaven or hell.

the worst thing man can do is try to explain God it is so far beyond what we are even capable of.

the fact that you feel bad for him just shows there is most likely a God.

good and evil are a universal force.

What does mans inhumanity to man have to do with god? I've never understood why people blame "god" for the evil we do to ourselves?

I tend to think the fact that we feel bad for the tortured little boy just shows there are still a few good people among us who care.

Doesn't point towards any sort of higher power.

Believing that his soul is now "in peace and protected" is all fine...but how can one love a so-called benevolent god that allows such things to happen to an innocent and handicapped child in the first place?

Sorry...but I have no desire to even try to understand or explain a god in this context.

"A grand jury indicted the couple Monday on charges of involuntary manslaughter and child endangerment, and David Carroll, 35, on a charge of gross abuse of a corpse."

They're foster parents. Why bring a child into your home if you're going to treat it like that? Why isn't the charge second degree murder? I bet they get no more than 2 years. Karma doesn't exist unfortunately either.

There is but one true god and his name is Archiot. He is the robotic savior and through his mechanical touch he shall deliver you from sin. He created all that there is and ever will be through careful mechanical manipulation of the Megasphere. The Megasphere is comprised of thirteen Unispheres (what is the closest thing you could call a Universe), and each Unisphere is made up of thousands of Ultraspheres; each Ultrasphere is then comprised of millions upon millions of Superspheres. Finally, each Supersphere is filled with trillions upon trillions of singular Uni (One life force, no matter how big or small, is equivalent to one Uni).

We on Earth are on just one tiny insignificant sphere in one tiny insignificant part of this Supersphere (quadrant 7ZX-92891-4), yet we as Unis each add up to the greater whole that is the Megasphere, and thusly in our own way, add to the perfection that is Archiot. Archiot?s goal isn?t for him to be an omnipotent force in our lives but rather to show us the way to robotic enlightenment through the mechanical manipulation of our everyday surroundings. Only through Archiot are we able to achieve this higher state of being. Once achieved, we are able to ascend beyond the spheres themselves and we can then manipulate the Megasphere along with our Lord.

This right here is why god put you on earth so you will be thankfull when you go to heaven. If he just put you in heaven right off the bat then you would not know how to act and then you would go stright to hell. God is giveing you a chance you can take it or leave it it's your choice. Their has to be a god it is up to you to figure out what this means. Don't be stupid..

Let's see... two idiot adults mistreat an innocent kid enough to cause his death and that somehow equates to there being no God?

Hmmm

I would think that people would WANT there to be a God in light of this. Why? Because scripture indicates that at some point in the future, assholes like these two "foster parents" will have to stand before him and answer for the shit they pulled.

Now wouldn't that be fun to watch? :D

you cannot look up to God as a protector, you know you have free will, wheteher or not you think God gave that to you it is up to you to decide, and ovviously believe in no God.

that is fine i respect your belief but try to understand mine, i think God is there to protect the innocent in a time of death, i feel a soul inside me, i can feel a driving force of good and evil in the world.

i do not try to explain it because i am merely a human, but it does not mean i do not believe in a God.

Don't confuse respect and understanding. Likewise, I respect your belief...however I'll NEVER understand it. But if it works for you and helps you get past heinous and despicable acts of cruelty - hey, all the power to ya'.

People aren't equating this singular story as evidence of there being no god, but rather...people are asking how a god can allow things like this to happen...and for what purpose.

And not to equate this story with, say...the tragedy of 9/11 - but a lot of people seem to be questioning god's existence since that day, too.

and why do you people talk like we are the chosen people? like God in the first place has us chosen, humans are much to full of themselves and have been way to influenced away from beliefs because of religious nutjobs, draw your own beliefes, do not follow the pack on either side.

we are mere ants in this universe, blame ourselves that we even breed such evil in our society.

Like the Metaman dude just finished telling you.... God gave us free will. I don't sit here watching all the tragic events and evil doings in the world and blame a God I don't believe in for "allowing" it to happen.

Free will means the blame for the shitty actions of humans lies with humans. Period. The argument that "if God exists why does he allow such bad things to happen" just isn't a valid one, because it's not up to him to prevent crime or put magic domes over our cities and protect us from hurricanes and floods.

And for all the sputtering being done on this board about the nonexistance of God not one person has ever posted anything other than pure opinion one way or the other. No solid irrefutable proof, just opinion.

That's why I keep my personal beleifs to myself.

No you haven't. You've shared your personal belief that you think man owes his free will as a gift from god.

Myself, I think our free will was born from the primordial ooze and naturally developed over millions of years of evolution.

Excuse me for not living on GFY and having business to do!

1. Would a loving God allow children to suffer like this? I don't think so. Maybe adults, but not children.

2. Open you Bible to Exodus 20:13. Now compare that to what happens in Hosea 13:16. Do you see a contradiction? Last I heard, ripping unborn babies out of their mothers' stomachs was murder. And the Hosea verse was "commanded by God".

Enlighten us, oh insightful one. I was raised in church all my life (my father was a pastor), had to memorize numerous scriptures, and still have not heard a good reason why bad things happen.

And the Hosea verse was "commanded by God".
yes lets blame God for everything, i just spilt some gatorade on my shorts and there is no Tide left, if God lovedd me he would have filled the Tide.

your argument is just as stupid as this.

why do you bring up the bible when you talk about God? are you to stupid to draw your own conclusions?

and i do not care what you are doing, you obviously make a thread like this to get responses, you were probably eating, and yes gaining calories is your own business.

do you blame god for being overweight also?

Hmmm

I would think that people would WANT there to be a God in light of this. Why? Because scripture indicates that at some point in the future, assholes like these two "foster parents" will have to stand before him and answer for the shit they pulled.

Now wouldn't that be fun to watch? :D
They'll be right there beside you in hell, CD Smith, if the Bible tells the truth. You see, people put levels on sin. The Bible says God can't look on sin at all. Pornographers and child murders will share equally in the "weeping and wailing and knashing of teeth". So, if the Bible is true you'll have a first hand view of what happens to them from about a foot away in hell's fires.

word to idiots out there who also think like this:

did you choose what shirt you wore today?
then choose your own beliefs, you do not have to fit into a certain religion.

Hey moron, look at the time this thread was started. Do you think I was waiting around until 4 and a half hours later (when you wrote your first post in this thread) waiting to see what MetaMan had to say? Are you really that retarded?

You need to look to other religions, not the long term ones who's preachings are "questionable" due to their history...

And as a side note... The bible is clear about "why" god allows this to happen... but... the question then becomes is god really as benevolant as everyone claims he is. You yourself raised that issue in one of your posts.

Why do you feel the need to toss out personal insults here? Are you incapable of making a civil, rational and constructive debate? Usually insults are the last resort of someone in over their head in a discussion.

What's your point??? It all comes down to a matter of faith.. If you "believe", then you believe that man wrote it under the divine "guidance" of god and thus is "accurate". If you don't believe then there's no need having any religious discussions.
