You mean that you needed the script to rotate and manage the free hosted gallery pictures

Don't expect too much with feeder traffic. Don't expect it to generate sales. The other stuff you'll have to figure out for yourself.

Thanks for the great knowledge your passing on zz, everyone appreciates it I'm sure.

I had a pretty basic query about macros, here is my macros 'heading' and 'today's links set:

Quote:
{{include-rollovers.tmpl}}
{{allowdupes}}
{{setquery-new-" periodsshown>-6 order by periodsshown, rand() "}}
{{setquery-stage1-" periodsshown>0 order by clickperiods "}}
{{setquery-best-" periodsshown>1 AND periodsshown < 15 order by (clicks/clickperiods) DESC"}}
{{setquery-best_noclicks-" periodsshown>1 AND periodsshown < 15 order by (clicks/clickperiods) DESC"}}
Quote:
{{all-thumbs-5-6-query-age1}}
It seems my thumbs update a lot slower than they should, I have some thumbs on my 'todays finest' that stay there for a few days instead of everything changing daily.

Is this a prob with my macro or is it something in the comus admin that needs updating?

Thanks again!

I think I found what I was looking for on the Comus forum. The macro should be 1-6 not 5-6.. lol

Great thread and one I will be revisiting

This thread pops up in my referring urls list every day. I thought I would pop in and say hi. aptgp III might or might not be better or as good as comus. What I can tell you with great certainty is that it's far better than aptgp2.

I have received both criticisms and praises for previous versions of aptgp. Both the good and the bad were well deserved. For the good -- I knew I that providing users with an intelligible admin interface would get the attention needed to penetrate the market. For the bad -- I knew that being the sole developer, and relatively inexperienced with TGPs would be among my greatest challenges. Nevertheless, I never claimed to be the best. I also never charged anywhere near the most for this application. This was (and is) a learning experience. I believe business in general is simply dedicating your soul to a life-long education. Moreso, in coming to realize the wonders of online entertainment; its convenience, its profit margins, and most of all its near fossil fuel independence, I am now more than ever dedicated to empowering entrepreneurs in this industry segment with the tools necessary to participate fruitfully.

Quite soon there will be a version of arrow trader lite that will work in tandem with aptgp III by eliminating the double logging associated with TGP/Trade script integration. This will be quite excellent -- cutting click-response times in half. I hope that some day aptgp can be to TGP management what ATX is to traffic trading management today.

If you ever have questions or comments I am perpetually available via ICQ.

Alright so I've been working on my next guide which is going to be very thorough. The thing is when I write it I keep adding more and more stuff. Yep I am still having nightmares of people ICQ' asking me how they get paid for making a TGP and how to install Comus for Windows. Anyway:

Would really help me out if you guys gave me a list of the stuff that I should focus on.

Comus vs AutoGallery SQL

You are writing only about Comus. I would like to start thumb TGP with easy handling and for a low price.
What is better Comus or Autogallery?
Comus is free with 2%skimming it is maybe better for start, but i do not understand php and mySQL databases. what i should do? I am running my current text TGP on a freehost (isishost.com) They are working good for me and taking only 404 traffic, do you think it is possible to install comus tools (image magick or so on..) on freehost server?, i dont know how to install it..
And i will have my own server after a month or two, but i dont want to wait i wanna get some experience in this now .

Here is my honest opinion: Comus and Auto Gallery SQL aren't even in the same class of TGP Rotators. It would be like comparing an Aircraft Carrier with a Submarine. Hope I didn't offend anybody. But you just can't compare the two.

I don't know it depends on the people running the freehost and what policies they have. Might wanna contact them first to see if there willing to help you out.

Have you tried Comus' installer yet? It tells you what it needs and if it can be installed on the server.

Comus might be too CPU intensive for a freehost. This might be more to you liking:

http://extreme-trader.com

Easy program, easy install, free.

And back to topic, can you compare AutoGallery SQL and Comus? Whats better?

You didn't click the link did you? Extreme Trader is a Thumbmanager and Trade Script in one.

TTT takes traffic where did you hear that it doesn't?

Sorry to interrupt again, but I have another question for y'all. This is an excellent tutorial for those with some experience and who are already familiar with the lingo. Do you know of any guides for total n00bs? And I mean total n00bs, not just "TGPs for Dummies" but more like "TGPs for Total Morons." I figure if I read up more on the basics, I could come back and be able to absorb more here.

I've tried awhangout.com, cozyacademy.com, and adultchamber.com so far but if anybody knows any others, I'd appreciate it a lot. Thanks!

Don't know of many TGP Guides out there that actually disclose the information in detail.

You should read the tutorials for the TGP Submitters to get some of the lingo down.

After that its all trial and error. If theres a word or words you don't understand I guess you could ask here...

Just don't give me a one page list.

I wonder if anybody that has implemented this plan has made any money with it. I am sure there has got to be somebody that has had wonderful success with this other than the topic originator, zzgundamnzz.

For sure an excellent thread though, I bookmarked it last year when it was new.

What do you think about AG SQL?

I don't think it matters what I say. It seems like you really wanna get AG SQL.

No. I want to set up small TGP and most of comus TGPs are big and daily updated . I am only newbie and i would like to use something easy to handle what supports submitting galleries and good traffic trader. Maybe i will have to ask someone for installation
I see biggest diference that Comus has free trial and AGSQL is paid.

Taking a long time to write. See my post 12 posts up:

Or I'll just paste it.

Y man, just for me as absolute newbie in making TGP:
1)DO i need my own server or can i get virtual account for running comus/AG
2)what i have to install to server? And how i can install required soft to server?
3) DO i need to know PHP or MySQL if i want to run comus/AG?
4) What abou traffic trade? how much take TTT?
5)comus vs autogallery SQL/PRO ?

Well if anybody's interested in a 3 year old TGP getting about 60K a day with lots of type in/ bookmark traffic...

No but seriously theres alot of people that aren't going to be compliant with the current law as it stands. I would wait the 29 days or so that are left to see if anything changes. Thats right we have quite a few days to get ready and to make changes.

If not well I would think about getting rid of the hardcore/nude images on my site and going with Mugshots Shots as the thumbs. That way your site has no nudity or sexually explicit material. When it goes to the Free Hosted Gallery with Sexually Explicit Material well...thats hosted by the sponsor and they should have all of the records necessary.

If that somehow doesn't meet their requirements... well we'll either go back to doing text only TGPs or we'll start doing Hentai/Anime stuff.

Just stay cool and don't do anything stupid yet... oh and don't wait the full 29 days that are left. Wait like 27 or something so you could make changes

It has a bug right now that makes it stop working after a while. Look at their support board to see what I mean.

If I was you I would be using a tgp rotator and only listing hosted galls, at least untill we see what happens with 2257.

Hey ZZ,

Just wondering - I was on your site and I noticed most (if not all) the links I clicked took me to softcore pages. Is there a reason for this (like is this your niche perhaps?).

Thanks

Also when you say

"Avoid Movie Galleries: They'll leave you with a cutoff watermark"

Could you explain more about this (i.e. what is a cutoff watermark)?

Well depending on the dimensions of your thumbs. If you don't have wide thumbs. Its hard to auto thumb movie galleries to get a good picture.

How big is your site now?
I see your skim is extremely high, better be making serious $$$ with that many hits sent to galleries

I've been doing ok for myself. I guess the skim varies depending on location. For people in the US its about standard. For alot of Europe its 100% to gallery.
