I think that the gallery links are fair game, but not the descriptions of course. I don't run a tgp btw, so I have no idea about the work invloved in listings. The point of the example, though, is that people tend to justify their behavior by the size of their site or their wallet.

Only "The Shemp" came out and said that it was wrong to steal his listings, all others remained silent.

I'm curious to hear your opinion on this. What action will you take?

Upon an e-mail I got about this site I checked it out, but couldn't find any of my links listed there... I took action against people taken my links in the past. One case made it to court. I won 'cause of the (international) database protection laws

In both cases the TOS are not law.

The Hun, why not create a system where the webmaster is rated by your script ?

I submit to you since 1999 (now using my real name - Renato - since you ask for it in the form).

For example:

1 star: Had less than 10 galleries approved.
2 stars: 11-20 galleries approved.
3 stars: 21-30 galleries approved.
4 stars: 31-50 galleries approved.
5 stars: 51+ galleries approved.

You could maintain like 30% of the galleries for those with 1 or 2 stars. The other webmasters would take the rest of the non-paid listings.
If the guy is a cheater, he would have just 1 gallery approved of course (so less chances to have his galleries listed)

Just a sugestion.

It seems, using similar logic as the document presents, as long as some one collects links from a variety of publically available sources that link to publically available sites and reorganizes thier directory in an original manner they are ok. After all, this is what a search engine does.

However, I'm still interested in hearing your opinion on the specific case of cliphunter. As long as he doesn't use your links you don't care?

The target will receive a large number connection attempts on port 80. If
port 80 is open on the target IE will also attempt to initiate a WebDAV
session for each request. Resulting in more traffic to the target.

Another way to accomplish this is to use the same peice of javascript but use http://cheatersip: and increment port numbers with the loop.

Anyways, rather than pay per submission, couldn't you setup some sort of monthly subscription fee? If the amount were reasonable, i don't think people would mind if a few of their galleries were denied each month. And if their galleries really were shithouse, you could just send them to your FAQ page, give them a better idea of what you want.

It always amazes me just how many people are totally jealous of those who have made something of themselves. The sad part is they usually have NO IDEA just how much work it takes EVERY DAY over MANY YEARS to get a real site off the ground and get some real traffic flowing through it. Hammering the hun - someone who goes more than the EXTRA mile for newbies on this issue is soo pathetic it makes me want to cry. He has soooo much patience with you idiots it's incredible. If I was in his position I'd have closed down the submission account years ago and dealt only with people who weren't gona fuck me around. You'd have to jump through a few hoops to get a perferered submitter account, but once you got it there wouldn' t be any worries.

Anyways, rather than pay per submission, couldn't you setup some sort of monthly subscription fee? If the amount were reasonable, i don't think people would mind if a few of their galleries were denied each month. And if their galleries really were shithouse, you could just send them to your FAQ page, give them a better idea of what you want. But for the love of god, don't take my daily GFY away.

The sad part is they usually have NO IDEA just how much work it takes EVERY DAY over MANY YEARS to get a real site off the ground and get some real traffic flowing through it. Hammering the hun - someone who goes more than the EXTRA mile for newbies on this issue is soo pathetic it makes me want to cry. He has soooo much patience with you idiots it's incredible. If I was in his position I'd have closed down the submission account years ago and dealt only with people who weren't gona fuck me around. You'd have to jump through a few hoops to get a perferered submitter account, but once you got it there wouldn' t be any worries. It's soo sad, he does more than MOST estabilshed sites for new webmasters and yet still there are people who bite him in the hand when he offers you a bone to start with.
