If I would teach you how to make a $30k to $100k+ a year...
Would you even bother trying or just sit around and complain about having to do work?
I just don't understand some people. I used to do "business coaching" back a few years ago before I got in to deep with this company managing their entire business and looking to get back into it. Most of the processes are automated, sending people PDF's to read and watching a few videos, then setting up some time to talk about details. I pretty much do this now for clients and show them how to get in more business, convert traffic better and getting customers to return to the site. Not rocket science but most people don't know what to do. Last week I just spent MANY hours working with someone, explaining the importance of a good web design, implementing call tracking and offers for people to go to the site and convert. I just get an email today saying "this isn't working, no one is calling me..." NO SHIT! he only has an email form with 10 fields to contact him, no wonder why. His excuse... "there is to much to do and I really don't have the time right now" ![]() Same thing happens with friends. I tell them how to improve things on their site or even if they want to setup an online business and the very next thing they say "can you just do it for me" ![]()

I have targeted geographical phone call and e-mail leads in several major cities for a very specific, high ticket service and in many of the cities I cannot get the business owners to take the leads. It's bizarre. Many people, particularly small business owners, don't understand or are not willing to sacrifice the concept of "put money in, get more money back."

Yeah, most of the time it's not that something is hard to do, it's lazy people that don't want to do it. That or they have no patience and give up, usually just before something was about to pay off.

a friend of mine has a small sporting goods business and he complains all the time about no one coming in, so instead he raised up his prices on stuff, then the people that were coming in, dont anymore. I tried to tell him how to bring in more business and get those people to keep shopping, but he says he's not going to bother with people online, its not worth it ![]()

you have to understand that most people have a huge mental block / insecurity about doing things online, especially when it comes to money and business. if you don't get that you might not be the best coach / teacher. does not mean they are lazy.

I was dealing with a guy last week. I have five geographic, highly targeted phone call leads for this particular service every day. I offer a free two week trial. Completely free, no strings attached. He flat out refused and said he did not want the leads.

I feel your pain. I did some consulting gigs, and that was essentially the same story.
Many want the money, few want to work. If you do not treat it like a job, you will never make money. This is not 2000 or 2002 where some naked ladies on the web will make you millions without you lifting a finger. Most people just do not have this discipline to be a self starter, or want to work. ![]() |

98%+ are not interested in actual work. most people are more interested in their personal lives than their professional BUT they do want the money, especially if it is your money. for instance, I work an average of 80 hours a week easily.... how much to I owe the 99% for my efforts? Obama sure seems to think I owe 30+%

most of what I'm telling them, especially for these local businesses is how to advertise outside their own store. one restaurant that I go to often, I know the owner. he was just complaining about a new place that opened up down the street and is taking his customers away. actually its not, the new bar has a big sign displaying their happy hour prices and they do a lot of marketing both online and off. problem is most people are stuck in this "rut" of when things used to work well and they don't want to make a change. same with people in adult, just because it worked 5 or 10 years ago doesnt mean it will now. I actually heard of a group of business owners trying to get together to sue Groupon. they claim its unfair as they can not make money selling gift cards or what not for 50% off. what they dont understand is it may cost you a few bucks to bring someone in the first time, but they will keep coming back

Sounds like since they clearly agreed to it, they should be suing themselves... for their own stupidity. Speaking of Groupon... we bought a waterproof camera encasement several months ago... it's never showed up. I think when the small 1 person shop signed up to sell 10,000 of them, they MAY have gotten a little overwhelmed. It amazes me that people sign up for this stuff without actually calculating what it means for the bottom line. What's there to be upset about except for their own ignorance? |

The problem is, is that most people expect other people to give them idea, but they won't use the idea(s) completely. They will maybe use part of an idea and if it doesn't make them $ instantly they quit and say shit like "that was a stupid idea".
In reality, the only thing that's stupid here is the person that never actually used the idea in its proper form and actually worked at it to make it work. Hell, if someone was to teach me things that would actually make me $ I would damn well work my ass off using the idea(s or techniques that I was told.taught. No matter how great an idea is, even if it makes someone else millions, it will not make you a damn thing unless you actually WORK!

I try helping local businesses once in a while... I usually just charge them with giving me free food/drinks... or just VIP treatment... Like, Jay is here, send somebody over to greet him and his guests... seat them, bring him and his GF their favorite drinks... appetizers... etc...
Some listen and others don't... The ones that listen tell me I should have charged them a couple grand. I then ask, would you have paid it? But I get my couple grand and then some through the treatment I get going to these places... Others don't listen and sooner or later they go out of business or ask for help when it is way too late... Not even God (or Boneprone) could help them... |

I'm done helping people all the time unless It's eurorevenue business or a few people I have already been talking to a lot. Just not worth my time and 95% of the people don't take the advice anyway.

I listened to a guy that was going to "coach" me into this business.
About $600 later he's no where to be seen and won't answer my messages. Goes both ways. If someone would honestly "coach" me saying do this, do that, then do this. I wouldn't have a problem. My problem now is going to be when I hear. Hey I need money so we can do this or that for you.. That's when I gotta draw the line. It sucks but I'm not a rich fuck that can just piss away cash like that. Time I do have, Trust in strangers on gfy, not so much...

On the flip side, I have spent hours and hours preparing stuff for potential clients and they never paid, or made up every excuse why they couldn't pay. One I have been chasing for 2 years that owes me $6k... I'll never see it tho. However when paying for something, always look for a contract and payment terms. with people that I work with, everything is done through a contract and very clear outline of what will be provided. Billing is mostly done invoice 30 day net unless I am buying media, I dont float loans. My ![]() Tough world

Same is true for us, we have several design and maintenance clients and the first thing we tell them is that simply having a website isn't going to bring them more business, they need to do some actual work for it, like adding fresh content, getting targeted ads up and running, doing cross linking etc, etc...
Most of them listen but fail to put it into practice, we even had one client a few months back tell us that all the work we did to get them listed for some competitive real estate terms wasn't bringing traffic to their site, even though the server stats proved differently, they simply weren't happy with what they had achieved because they HAD to pay for it. |

Most people who want to make money online are looking for that push buttion solution. There is none. If it was that easy everyone would be doing it. People see all these sales pages sure they might buy a few products try a few techniques and then they see that they have not made a sale they give up. Then they start saying making money online is a scam, this doesn't work ect.. making up all these excuses ie: I can't do this, I have no time, this is too hard, I have no technical skills ect..The problem is most people don't stick to one technique to see any results. They buy product after product searching for that magic bullet it becomes a never ending cycle. Now they wonder why they haven't made any money? Come up with a plan and stick with it. Making money online is a business!..
