It's not actually obsolete and there are lot of variants from it. I don't know about this Russia thing and I am not going to start fighting about it, but I bet that Russia has plenty of AKs in storage. "New" gun can mean just a gun pulled from storage grease (never used).

Yep, but those are mostly AK-74M. Now Russia produces only the modern series of AK: AK-103 and AK-12 + assault riffles designed by other constructors such as AN-94 "Abakan", AS "Val", ASh-12.7 etc.

But one again, AK-47 is not produced here since 1959. Because that's a very obsolete model.

It is realy strange they flew there. But that also counts for countries as Irak and Iran where a lot of civilian planes fly over like from Amsterdam to Dubai or Abu Dabi. On airports they check and scan you so you can't take explosives with you. But than they sent the plane above terrorist countries as a sitting Duck waiting to get shot down. And that will happen again, the terrorist get better weapons.

controllers request all the time aircraft to change altitude due to other aircraft in the vicinity or weather related is very common except for areas where there isn't radar coverage, outside radar coverage areas each flight is issued a track which is like a tunnel that the aircraft must follow.

On that day the NOTAM for that particular route was minimum ceiling of 32 000 feet , the aircraft was at 33 700 feet so it was above the NOTAM issued note.

There was a Singapore airlines flying at FL 35 000 feet in the same route just 5 minutes behind and an air india at 32 500 feet 10 minutes ahead of the Malaysian airlines. they were exactly in the same corridor only at different altitudes.

Two possible thing could have happened

1- Its was cloudy so they could fire the missile blindly, that means being fired only by rdar lock

2- Malaysia airlines airplanes belly is painted the same color as Ukrainian military transport aircraft and could have been mistaken by on of the Antonov.

Before you start blaming people get some info on how airplanes, routes and controllers work

I tried to give you insight info from someone that flew and has being flying airplanes for long enough to know a bit about it.

A few weeks ago i was flying from somewhere south of Spain to somewhere south of France with flight plan to fly FL 280 but on route controllers requested to descend to FL 180 which was bumpy as hell even after my requests to get higher FL it was denied.

So what is so suspicious about this flight?
