I just saw the movie Human Trafficking yesterday, and it was messed up!



Do any of you live in countries where this is a real problem? And, do the guys that visit these brothels not care that these are trafficked girls? It seems like you would be able to tell the difference.

There is more to it than that. People don't fuck animals or takes loads of countless strangers in their ass everyday because they are hurting.

They do it because if they don't, there is a consequence. Be it an ass kicking or they don't get fed for the night or they don't get shelter.

To stop the "pain" they do drugs. Lots of them. They become addicted to make the pain go away and then they can't leave the brothel / pimp because they now need the drugs. It's a NASTY game. In South East Asia this is nasty shit and common in the brothels that service locals. Not so much with the tourists but in some countries you will find it. Check between their toes for tracks where they have been shooting up. They won't do it on their arms or in places people can see it. Of course IV drug use sky rockets HIV infection so on top of being a hooker who will bareback anyone, she is sometimes shooting up with dirty needles on top of it.

Most guys who come over here and many who live here refuse to admit this goes on. They refuse to talk about it or are even blind to it because they want to be or are just to naive to really see what is going on around them. Truth be told I can walk out my door right now and drive to where I know of at least 100 girls who are slaves there in one form or another. Nobody cares about them now just the same as nobody cares about them when they will get sick. In response to your quote earlier, sometimes it takes a "movie" (or book) to open a person's eyes to the situation. Kite Runner REALLY got me thinking about Afghanistan Anyway, though the movie is a far cry (or not, I don't know) from an accurate representation, it does start the ball rolling so that one can continue his/her investigations.

Whatever opened your eyes to it, did the job and that's all that matters. I meant don't stop there at just the movie to educate yourself on the subject.

There are various groups and NGOs around the world that help with human trafficking but the problem is that outside of these groups, nobody cares. It's kind of like the illegal drug business, there are all kinds of groups and law enforcement to try to curb it but truth is there is too much money in it and everyone has their hands in it so nothing really happens other than a bust here or there but even those busts do nothing to stop it.

The other problem is many of these women end up right back in the same place. I forget who it was, the BBC or Al Jeerzera, but one of them had a 1 or 2 hour show dedicated to human trafficing not too long ago. They were in Europe and buying girls (about 700) from these pimps. They would get the girl out of there, take her to a shelter, feed her and get her medical attention and try to help her. Most of the girls would actually run away from the shelter over time and go right back to the same pimps that sold them in the first place. Sadly for many of these girls, this is all they know.

Many people care, but it's an uphill battle. The girls are under lock and key, and threatened with killing them or their families if they try to leave or tell anyone.
I have heard of some Russian girls managing to tell a return customer what was going on and he helped them escape, but they said they still live in fear every day that the guys are going to retaliate.

Here is what you can do. Find something you are passionate about (in terms of helping others) and do it. Help every chance you get. Find the right organizations or do what you can, anyway you can.

If you want my honest opinion, and it is based on my personal experience with these girls, and that is that most of them are a lost cause. Let the groups who are already in place try to save them and if they can, they will. You nor I are not gonna do much to save them the same as you nor I can stop a dam from bursting by sticking a finger in a leaking hole.

i am probably a few years older than you, at early youth everything is changeable and can be fixed, but as you mature you start to accept the world for what it is and realize change doesnt happen overnight. also many issues are "black and white" whereas when you mature large areas become more gray areas.
many of these issues are coming from un-equal wealth distribution more or less mixed in with cultural/political differences between continents/religions etc.
both of those "animals" are very hard to change but in general we are going in the right direction as the world becomes better schooled and educated.
