Try getting a large bag of CFM Whey protein and drinking about 20-40g every 2 hrs. You should be able to get a 20kg sack of it for quite cheap.

If you want to gain weight, don't think of it as a 'meal replacement', think of it as a meal addition.

I like Champion Nutrition Pure Whey... drink about 2 per day...

It mixes very easy and tastes great.

It's not MRP, only protein.. but it all works the same for me..

The key is REAL food... just eat every 2 hours

I suck down a MRP with an extra scoop of whey immediately after a workout, because they digest very quickly. That's just about the only time I use them. I use Mealplex, it's cheap and I see no reason why I should spend a bunch of money on MRPs. Mealplex contains maltodextrin though.

Just a whey shake alone will not give an insulin reaction, and that's the point of MPRs, to create an insulin reaction. That's particularly important immediately after a workout, because insulin is one of the most anabolic hormones in the body, next to GH and testosterone.

ok , lets put it this way: what is the most natural and most safe way to get an extra 100g of protein a day which is not real food or whey ( I have a gut problem with whey ) ?

go buy some optimun whey (the top selling brand, buy the choclate the strawberry and vanilla taste like shit, but the choclate mint is also good) go buys some oatmeal, put the oatmeal inside a grinder grind to a powder. Mix the oatmeal with 2 scoops of the whey but in a shaker bottle. This is all you need, gives your carbs and protein.

bodybuilding.com sells all that stuff, dont go to gnc the prices are twice as much, except the shaker bottles bodybuilding.com sells are crap

soya or casin proteins have their benefits. You might be having problems digesting that much protein. Just cut your consumption in half for a couple of weeks and maybe add some fibre (metamucil) or ginger root to you protein 'shakes'.

That's not true, many pros suck down a MRP after a workout. Real food is almost always better, but some people don't have an appetite after a workout, so a MRP is the next best thing. That's me on legs day.

You can get protein powders that do not contain whey. You can get then with egg whites and/or soy. Egg whites digest very quickly, not as fast as whey, but still pretty damn fast. Egg white protein powder tastes pretty good too.

Don't listen to what this guy is saying, he doesn't even know. If you cut down your protein intake, your size and strength gains will slow down dramatically.

5-9 grams, depending on the size of the egg. I suggest not eating the yolk though, because it's mostly fat. Without the yolk, you can expect 2-5 grams of protein.

When you spend 250 - 800 bucks an hour to talk on the phone with pros like jay cutler, lee priest, ronnie colman etc. and get facts let me know.

Fact is there are very few big guys walking around yet millions of people are shoving these shakes down, dont kid yourself please.

- Food digests more slowly and won't spike your insulin levels the way a MRP will.

- Our bodies are designed to eat food, not shakes.

However, some people don't have an appetite or can't get to food after a workout for various reasons, so MRPs are very good at filling that gap. They're easy to transport, easy and quick to make and they digest very quickly.

there are some pros at my old gym.. they use MRP sometimes... but then they'll eat something like chicken and rice 20 minutes later.. and then stick their ass with some T... some GH in the tummy... maybe some insulin.. drink 20g creatine.... they do everything in excess!

but yes, people who think 1-2 MRP per day with no food or solid training and look like a BB are fooling themselves

It depends on your genetics. My first year of hardcore training, I put on 35 lbs of lean muscle. I was and still am natural. Of course my gains have been much slower since. Most gains are made in the first year and the years following are simply minor improvements upon the original. Powerlifters make huge gains their first year and are lucky to make 10% gains the years following. The same is true for bodybuilders. The body is only capable of so much, otherwise we could train to do crazy shit, like lifting bulldozers.

I was talking about digestion though. Most people should be able to digest about 30g of whey protein in 1.5 hours but that's after getting used to it. Most people starting out complain of stomach cramps, gas and bloating if they try that.
